Everyone has an opinion on everything not just music.the world would be a boring place if we all thought the same.oasis were just more than a band for me they changed people's lives IMO they gave you a confidence.there style in clothes changed British fashion.they had everything IMO that's why they will be rememberd in another 20 years.they will stand the test of time.the only bands I like we're before oasis such as the smiths roses,Beatles,stones,who,pistols,etc.what concerns me is since oasis there hasn't been a band that ive thought fuck yeh these are the real deal,but that's just my opinion

No. They're one of the most famous bands in the world.

The trouble with you is that you think you have invented the fucking wheel every time you post about Crystal Castles, or Fuck Buttons, or Health, all of which I saw long before they were signed and you had heard of them, on top of which some of us saw bands like Neu! or Can or the original Pink Floyd first time around - we don't need lectures from you, or anybody else.

I'm insanely jealous you saw those bands, really, I am. But you can't hold me not being alive against me.

This is an Oasis thread, not a 'Bob Knows Of Better Bands You Saddoes, So Listen To The Bright Young Hipster' thread.

The thing is though Bob, no one likes a one topic poster. Most of us know that Oasis are just a comedy band, there really is no need to fire in to every Oasis thread to tell those who like them how bang average they are.

It's like Pidge and his anti agenda stance, or BillyShears and his Mancini hating. To constantly bang on about a certain topic just pisses people off.

The thing is though Bob, no one likes a one topic poster. Most of us know that Oasis are just a comedy band, there really is no need to fire in to every Oasis thread to tell those who like them how bang average they are.

It's like Pidge and his anti agenda stance, or BillyShears and his Mancini hating. To constantly bang on about a certain topic just pisses people off.

I have not once said in this thread that Oasis are average. I made a case that they weren't the best British band ever and then stuck up for Radiohead when they were criticised. That's it. That really is it.

Fair enough. Then it must be the fact that you have previous with regards to Oasis that seems to be bothering people so much. As soon as I saw this thread near the top of the board, I just knew that you would be on it listing a shit load of bands who you perceive as better, and sure enough here you are. I happen to agree with your standpoint by the way (and I'm sure many others do too), but it's just the sheer inevitability of the whole thing that's tedious. Probably best to just leave them to their thread.

I only praised Radiohead because Damocles made a post slagging them off....

But why do it in a thread about a totally different band? If you want to praise Radiohead,

Not once in this thread have I said a bad word about Oasis. I even said I liked their first two albums. I just got a little annoyed when someone called them "Without doubt, the greatest British band ever" because they were disregarding bands that are often considered to be some of the greatest of all time by millions of people across the planet. I think that's a fairly reasonable opinion to add to the discussion.

But when Damocles told everyone "nobody cares" about Radiohead past 'Creep', it's bound to get on my nerves because I like them. I replied directly to him in this thread because he wouldn't read one about Radiohead and therefore would not see my argument. But I'm not allowed to stick up for Radiohead without being branded a music snob (again) and being patronised by older members of the forum (again).

Thank you for telling me about my interests in music and what I would and wouldn't read on the forum. For the record, I was also listening to Radiohead while you were still rocking to Mr Blobby and Bob The Builder.

There's a bunch of stuff that is in the main forum that I'm thinking of reading, can you give me a list of threads that I will and won't read in future please? In fact if you could make a note for every thread on the forum and which moderators are going to read it then you'd make our job much easier.

I posted a direct quote from Noel Gallagher about Radiohead in reply to something said earlier in the thread about Gallagher's views on Radiohead.

You created this entire situation and you didn't even bother to read the post and just went off on the tirade that you were looking for an excuse for.
