If you passed your test before 1 January 1997:
- You're allowed to drive a vehicle and trailer combination of up to 8,250kg maximum authorised mass (MAM).
- You can also drive a minibus with a trailer over 750kg.
Truck !!!it's a Luton sized van upto 7.5t or a long wheel based transit .That's nice. We seem to at the stage of our Brexit journey where the stewardess is asking if there is a doctor on the plane because the pilot is feeling queasy.
“Have you ever towed a caravan?”
“Yes, back in the early nineties.”
“That will do, get in and drive this truck to Hull and back.”

Don't post on something you don't know about thenSeriously, that means nothing to me. I know nothing about vans, trucks or especially a long wheeled based transit. Is that a sex thing?
It's all about the axel weights , yes since 1997 you need to get a C1 licence , prior to that you car licence covered you as hgv started at 8.5t7. 5 tonne can be driven on a UK C1 licence.

You are quite rightThis place would be a bleeding desert if that rule applied.
Also, lighten up. My post had a stewardess, a queasy pilot and a joke about ‘to Hull and back’ within a fictional conversation. What part of it made you think it was a serious observation?
You are quite right
NoI’m pretty sure I have been insulted here...
You know nowt about me, fella.Yes, you do. And yes, it is very unhealthy.
