The idiocy (and selfishness) of panic buying

So wheres this breakdown in society happened and why?
A few more weeks for northern Italy and it will be ‘interesting’ for them. 80% increase on normal rates of death. No chance of hospital beds to attempt recovery. I’m sure they’ve run out of palliative medicine as well.

We are currently 2 weeks behind them on death rates... so give it a month and we’ll see. still plenty of beer/spirits in the cellars of those closed pubs. Might as well get to the Winchester

Mosques, churches and Synagogues have suspended all services. Still the is no restriction on public transport.

The most popular grocery stores here in Texas, after being raided for two weeks by stockpiling nutters, have set up an orderly system of limited entry for crowd control and better distancing enforced by off duty police and store employees. They are also limiting popular items to two per customer. This has allowed the store to restock and maintain inventory control. They have shortened the hours of the store and are cleaning like crazy when closed. It’s a shame this was required at all but it seems to be working and hopefully people will get the message that they don’t need 8 gallons of milk or 500 rolls of toilet paper.
