Further than any time in my life, pal. World seems in a downward spiral, to me.
I think there are a couple of reasons for this. One is the poisoning of government politics being rigidly attached to social politics. Specifically the pandering to what imo are ad hoc flavour of the day unworkable ideals held by what are commonly termed as "millenials". I feel Labour are very guilty of this, it feels like they are more concerned with a media campaign that says yes to every demand and whim of this demographic such as millenials are. I am a strong believer in meritocracy, Labour and to an extent government as a whole are guilty of betraying this fair system. Labour have gone more this way than most, Lib Dems were already there kinda.

A party will spend millions and a lot of brain power devising ways of winning xyx. I think this is all a load of excess nonsense. It feels like a quick fix, a plaster on a gaping wound. To often ministers get caught out now when asked how system they propose would work, sounds great but show us the detail. I get the feeling this is just the tip of the iceberg. So much is spent on media and influencing with solid plans and policy either hidden as they want to slip it in without anyone knowing or not thought through. The priorities are wrong. It may not be new but it feels amplified now to the detriment of government as a whole.

Just for balance i actually had hope when Cameron started as pm, he seemed focused and on the surface was at the disposal of his country There are many reasons people could note as to why he lost respect/credibility etc but for me it was early on. He sorted it so some green belt land that had been protected for ages could be bought, the buyer? his wifes father.

Straight away he lost all credibility to me as that is not the action of a man there to focus on the job at hand. He should have told his wife "tell your dad fuck off, he is rich enough as it is, i am not here to abuse my position". His family was already very wealthy, it was disgusting and barely mentioned in the media.

The government think we are fickle on issues and can be influenced with a few superlatives maybe. we are in general, not! This i feel drives a large part of government, their media stuff. Cut it out, be open and stop pandering so much. Win us over with your well thought out policy and ideas.
