This.

Driving me mad how they can all come out to the press, Ian Austin the latest, slating the Labour party and Corbyn yet they still stand on his manifesto (at this time) and all too shit scared to call a by-election. Absolute cowards of the highest order that will do nothing but hand the Tories power for the forseeable. They should allow their constituents to let them know what they think. If this happened with my MP I'd be absolutely furious.
Maybe it's not a problem with the manifesto that they've resigned on. Perhaps it's more related to the piss poor leadership and the direction the party is taking, and maybe it's due to Corbyn's enabling behaviour in not standing up to the worst PM in living memory leading the country into potential disaster.

Fine - Leave the party. But have the balls to stand in a by-election, especially if you want to team up with Cons.

me too - I was just giving my thoughts as to why they won't though

They are a weird breed. Live in a bubble. Just caught the tail end if 5live, adrian childs interviewing the MP for dudley.
Childs called him out re a by-election, MP ruled it out. He effectivley said his constituents voted for HIM, rather than the Labour party.
Eem think youre wrong there kiddo.

The IG have one goal and one thing in common and that is to stop brexit by whatever means they can.

Let’s not kid ourselves they are anything but that.

Which is not a particularly popular viewpoint, no matter how passionately some might hold it.

which is why I wonder where some of the love for them comes from. They want to stay in the EU and Leave Labour because Corbyn is facilitating May taking us out of the EU and some Leavers on here think them quitting is great and want them to gather more support. What if their view gathers enough support to stop Brexit? Be careful what you wish for I'd say.

The reason Chukka has left Labour is because he disagrees with policy on Brexit which fundamentally you must agree might harm the country and result in more poor and homeless people, what is the problem? The others have left citing abuse and even bullying, if nothing gets done about it then what do you expect them to do?

The reason those in Labour spout so much vitriol against the likes of Chukka is because differences of opinion are no longer allowed in Labour. The consequence is people call him a Blairite or worse to discredit him which is just pathetic. If he is a Blairite then so what, what is the problem???

I for one and I know MANY others will seriously consider voting for the independent group if it became possible because I like their policies and I think they could do a lot of good. Politics has been crying out for a centrist party and now I really do hope we have one.

Centrist pressure will hopefully build from this enabling us to settle Brexit and we can then get back to being a normal prosperous country.

Chukka has been against Corbyn from day 1 and (where have we heard this before?) wanted to overturn a democratic vote by his party members. He has undermined the leader at every opportunity and that is why he (wrongly imo) receives so much vitriol. Broad opinions are valued, constant jibes at the democratically elected leader not so much.

Politics hasn't been crying out for a centrist party. That's all we've had for over two decades and look where the country is. Centrism is just more of the same of what's happened in recent years, many people want something different.

He's right though. The ballot paper has his name on it, not 'whoever Labour have selected'. People may have felt they were voting for Labour, or for Corbyn, but in reality they voted to give him a 5 year term as MP.

Any Labour or Tory supporter thinking people leaving their party is a wonderful thing needs their head examined. It's bad news for both.

In reality the Ballot papers have " Bill Smith" then next or underneath that says Labour/Con / Libdem and the party logo - they are intrinsically linked in front of you as you put your x in the box and if he says otherwise he is lying.
