I've become depressed by the place.


Glen, there was no need for that. The dark humour of the clip I posted was not about point scoring or flag waving.

Also, the references to my profession are getting boring. I often help blues out via PM if I can, but it seems that a few are intent on thinking I should be some kind of stereotypical uber gentlemen MD that their mothers told them about.

Think carefully about this step M. It probably wasn't the smartest move starting a thread about an organisation that has caused a lot of heartbreak and anger amongst the population of the British Isles. It was always likely to attract some strident replies, a few of which have been very close to breaking the CoC. Indeed, I did forewarn one of the mods in the early stages of this thread to keep an eye on it as it had the potential to turn nasty. Oh well. I suppose freedom of speech and all that. Sleep on it tonight, you might feel a bit better about it tomorrow.

I shouldn't laugh at such a serious matter but that is pretty funny.

Also if someone invaded my country, partitioned it, "transplanted" 1000's of foreign nationals into it and then claimed decades later that these were the new majority, and the set about murdering my family friends and fellow countrymen for no better reason than "they could" I like to think I'd be brave enough to fight back and kill a few of the cnuts too.

I actually cringed when I reread my post.
lesson for me here.. don't join a serious thread when drunk. Don't join a thread about a highly emotive subject about Ireland after listening to an hour of folk music written about the subject..

My natural sympathies do lie with the nationalist side of this argument but there are ways to express it and my post wasn't one of them.

You're right to call me out on it.
