As Ajax are one of the "biggest clubs in the world", why aren't you in the Champions League?

Possibly something to do with them being a feeder club to actual big clubs.

Re: Just this minute.............

I am very proud of the staff though. i mean if we do not get Eto'o, alot of people on this forum will slag Hughes and Cook off no end but to even try the deal, when we are a club that won't be playing european football next season is unbelievable. Cook and Hughes must get praise for trying Eto'o.
I do hope we get him because he's an household name which might accelerate the project a few seasons forward but what we realise is that we are bidding for the worlds best players at the best teams and the only club to do that has been Real Madrid. The most important thing is that we look to be stubborn, will not give Barca and Eto'o what they want and that is smooth and excellent business, we do not want to be taken for a ride because if we listen to what Eto'o wants, he signs then Eto'o will expect to get everything. Then the club will be known as Eto'o FC, he might even be picking the team. Soo hands up to the City board, 100% behind them.

Hi everyone. I'm new at the place. In fact, i registered to try to post a new topic but it seems to be impossible (maybe my fault) so i'll type it here.

I'm a football fan from Barcelona, not really a City fan, but i'm very interested in the club since last summer when you started to spend so much money. Actually, I liked the way you operate in the transfer market last season and i was happy when the Kaka deal could'nt happen. For me, ambition doesn't mean necessarely to bring in big stars to the club. Look at Sevilla in Spain, who reborn a big club from a really bad situation based on a great professional structure and knowing of the market to add good signings like Dani Alves, Baptista, Adriano, Poulsen, Maresca, Luis Fabiano... But Sevilla needed to sell players each summer to succeed and that's a handicap you don't seem to have. On the contrary, I think City has a flaw on his ability to sell players, and that fact takes me right to the point i wanted to talk from the beggining: I know you're trying to bring great players like Eto'o (as a Barcelona fan i can speak confidently about that being almost impossible because the player has too much pride to accept Barça doesn't want him anymore and he doesn't want the club to receive any money from his transfer), Tévez or Lescott but... what about the off's?

Shay Given, Taylor, Micah Richards, Zabaleta, Kompany, Onuoha, Wayne Bridge, Nigel De Jong, Gelson, Stephen Ireland, Gareth Barry, Elano, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Bellamy, Robinho, Petrov, Roque Santa Cruz, Valeri Bojinov. I assume that bunch of players count for the next season in one way or another.

What i want to know is what's the idea of the club about...

Kasper Schmeichel
Richard Dunne, Tal Ben Haim, Glauber, Javier Garrido, Michael Ball and Shaleum Logan
Dietmar Hamann and Kelvin Etuhu
Felipe Caicedo, Benjani, Jo Alves and Darius Vassell

And above all what dou you expect to happen with youngsters like Michael Johnson, Daniel Sturridge and Ched Evans.

Excuse me for my english and thank you in advance.

Just wondering: doesn't it bother you that whatever bigtime player comes to City, comes only for the cash? or do you think that players from Madrid and Barca come to City, just to play midtable premier league football. If this sort of things would happen at Ajax, i'd absolutely hate it. Players like Eto'o and Robinho wouldn't even had considered City if it wasn't for the cash..

Just wondering why an Ajax fan would come onto a City Forum??

Now jog on

just checking what u fans think of this subject. Because both you and me know that City is nothing. Ajax on the other hand is one of the biggest clubs in the world. 4 times winner of the EC I/ CL and we always have had players coming from our own acadamy playing for the biggest clubs in Europe and the our national team. We used to have Cruijff, v. Basten, Swart, Overmars, Bergkamp F. de Boer, R. de Boer, Kluivert, Litmanen, Kanu and Van der Sar. Now we have Sneijder, Van der Vaart, Babel, Ibrahimovic and Maxwell.

Man I hope Ajax draw City in the Europe League, we would absolutely trash you. we would tear you to pieces. please let Ajax draw City!

o wait...

PS Eto'o is staying at Barca.

why dont you clog on!!!! are you so bored that you come on another clubs forum...isnt it flower picking weather

You must try to chat with me in english if you want a laugh. Even I abuse my own language (catalan, not spanish, by the way) when i type it in a forum.

I know it's boring to answer obvious things to an uninformed foreigner but i'll thank any help on my questions.
