you have got to be joking....i normally respect your opinion but he was terrible; an absolute embarassment!!!

couldnt control a ball. constantly knocked off the ball and looking for fouls which werent there, no running, won very few headers and missed a very good chance from a swp corner.....he offered absolutely nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

An improvement on Benjani in the first 45 minutes is no great achievement, and I don't think he played all that well. But he did win balls in the air, and did hold up the ball as well as you could expect given the delivery to him. But it was more a commentary on how ineffective Benjani was, and I'd be pretty confident we would have been 1 up if it was Jo through on goal instead of Benjani in the first half.

I have to agree with moomba, jo did'nt play great but he was a massive improvment on benjani. Actually to be honest i think jo in 45 minutes got on the end or more bleeding long balls (he needs someone to run of him) than benjani has in his entire time at city.

All I've done is bash Jo on these forums, but until I see something worth £19m then I'll continue to do so.

I've said time and time again that Jo plays far too deep (infact, very similar to the way Keane has been playing at Liverpool). He's always looking to come out for the ball and never makes runs behind the back 4. There were occasions yesterday where he collected the ball wide a few times and looked clueless as to what to do next. I've seen it game after game where it's played into feet and he's only ever looking to play it back to Kompany/SWP/Ireland.

The only way I see Jo developing is to play 442 with a pacey striker playing off him. Goal wise, I predict 95% of Jo's goals (if they ever come) will fall to him in the box from a set piece or deflected shot. People on here expecting him to nutmeg 3 defenders and bolt past the other must be watching a different player to me. He's not even great in the air!

Jo is very, very lucky that his transfer was overshadowed by SWP, Robinho and the takeover. If Jo would have been our only signing at a whopping £19m, far more questions would be being asked of his ability. (See Robbie Keane again)

I'd love to see Jo played with a partner up front.

Honestly how many strikers can play up front alone well????

I really dont know who scouted him because im obviously no scout but after watching 10minutes of his debut i thought 'He will not score 12 league goals this season' and unfortunatly it looks like im right. However we clearly dont play to his strengths(whatever they are) and it doesnt help that he's in and out of the team with 45mins here and 10mins there, he has had his moments though i thought he did well against Chelsea did pretty well in Cyprus with 2 goals and a well taken goal against Stoke

Very similar to how Crouch played in his first months at Liverpool. Held up the ball well, but didn't get near the goal and I think he went 20 odd games without scoring. It was only when he started playing further up the field that he started to become effective as a goalscorer, maybe Jo has to be given specific instructions to avoid coming back into the midfield too far.

For me Jo isn't a striker he's a classic Centre forward, but with loads of technique & tricks, that's struggling atm. Hes either struggling with the language/culture or his confidence has gone maybe even both. We need to get that sorted though because once we do i can see him scoring loads of goals for us.

Thats how i see him as a Peter crouch but with more skill & tricks.

He was shocking on saturday, unfortunately he has absolutely no udne4rstanding of the English game yet

If he's given a chance in time he will come good because there is no doubt that he is a very good player with shit loads of potential. He will reach it with us if the whingeing negative clowns on this thread like shaundickov don't get their way

This, i think Jo offers so much more than Benjani ever has/will... Hughes has done to him what Pearce did to Samaras. Hopefully it wont be the same outcome and the idiots on this board that take pleasure in our players failing will be the one's left looking a little stupid.

He couldn't give him a run of games because the fans were starting to get on his back and his confidence was all but gone. Our problem is we get clowns like shaundickov attending our games who are all to happy to get on our own player backs

its shit isnt it. im as dissapointed as anyone with jo, but he cannot just come off the bench with 10mins to go and be expected to do the business. our fans are getting more and more rutheless so i can understand that a run of games infront of our fans could finish him off!
Other than Vass, i think the team is supported well in the ground. Most of the noise coems from SS/111 & 110. The people in those blocks don't generally get on players backs they just support the team... Give Jo a run and lets see if we can have the people running onto hid flick ons etc.

Hughes could do with giving our players confidence too, rather than benching them and destroying it... Great way yo get our "winning mentality"!

Oh and it seems the very friendly shaundickov is the one thats now gone quiet.

benjani was onvloved in setting irealnd up in the first half....so he achieved more than Jo dod on that respect....and as for holding the ball up...maybe once or twice but otehr than that he gave it wawy every time....he won 2 headers.....and they went to noone. he also missed a gilt edged chance for a header from a corner......

i know benjani isnt flavour of the month and i know he aint good enough but he added more to the game that Jo did (including tripping over the ball!!! ;-) )
