The "Just got back" from Barnsley thread..

had a great day yesterday. I went to a pub right next to the ground, i think we were the only city fans in there. It was a good game, i was impressed by Ade and Toure. Ade for his presence, and work ethic with skill combined, was unlucky when he hit the bar. Toure added leadership and strength, he'll be a great addition to our squad.

I don't recall barnsley fans singing once, apart from when they scored, but we made a great atmosphere

Had a quality day yesterday ( what I can remeber)

Started with 8 cans of 1664 at picc, then got off train at Stockport, had couple in Mcdonalds car park, then went weatherspoons up road, back on train, made Andrew Conductor get a dirty r*d to pay for his ticket, got off at Sheffield but didnt gret to drink my pint sold it to a blackburn fan for £2.50, picked me bag of beer up that i left next to the fountain's. Back on train to Barnsley with a football beachball too.

Walked from Barnsley station to metro place, then it started to get a weee bit hazy, had dodgy pint in metro place and spent 2nd half on bogs, not pleasant at all, once all cleard up, train to sheff and few pints in the big white pub and then a few pints in town, good day all round.

andrew conductor was such a cock lol. was quality strolling onto maccies car park and seeing you with your 1664's

his mate sumet service was better lol Wasnt going to waste them 1664's as i paid hard cash for them, and was good that they were still next to fountain later

For a start. Your making out we didn't have chances, we had a good few and also a very good penalty claim.

JCR went around whoever was left back and but in a good ball. Odejayi running at the far post was pushed while going for the ball and fell into the net.

Also read comment that we should be worried. You are only a week behind us in pre season and I'd be worried if I where you if you are not ready for the season. Also why would we be worried, yoe scored an injury time goal to make the score 1-1.

We also had 3 key players out and playeda young player who was number 19, Jacob Butterfield come in and again played well. Alsohis midfield partner was a O'Neil Thompson a jamican player on trial.

No mixed reviews by us about I an Hume coming on. It was a chant HULME... Was his first appearance at Oakwell since he fractured his skull so a good welcome back was all it was. Must be the only set of fans not to know that or even applaud him. Even Buxton fans the other week gave him a cheer when he came on aas a sub for his first game back.

Hope you do well anyway. My Grandad is a big Man City fan so good luck with the new season.

With some players back and with a few more signing I see no reason why we can't have a good season. No one to be afraid of in the league but I'll take it as it comes.
1/not many city fans knew of hulmes injury, those that did applauded,as they did your youngsters parading a trophy
2/your team played well, your no 10 very well, sheff wed away should be a great day out
3/city played at3/4 pace and i suspect barnsley held back aswell ie friendly

The bloke in the green baseball cap over the Barnsley player's left shoulder is me.

Did anybody else see the guy at the start of the game trying and failing loads of times to kick a beachball into the stands.

sorry the link opens the first photo you need to go to photo 73.
