Yea I did notice that it clashed with Citys games , makes you wonder if it was done on purpose. As Ashford is about a two and half / three hour trip for me I waited till my lad bought it on DVD for my birthday lol

Yes finally got to see it last night.
A bit disappointed that the German side of things lasted like 3 mins before he was captured! No mention of him escaping from the Russians twice.
Other than that it was alright. Loved the bus attack bit and the Liverpool sign being visible lol

Personally, I thought the idea of a Liverpool bus attack in 1949 was a bit far fetched. as that delightful little tradition didn't start until the 1956 FA Cup Replay.

Bernd «Bert» Trautmann aus Bremen wird mit 17 in die Wehrmacht eingezogen. Zum Ende des Zweiten Weltkrieges gerät er in britische Kriegsgefangenschaft und wird nahe Manchester inhaftiert. Bei einem Fussballspiel unter deutschen Kriegsgefangen wird der Coach des Provinzclubs St.Helens auf sein Talent als Torhüter aufmerksam und verpflichtet ihn. Trautmann verliebt sich in Margaret, die Tochter seines Trainers. Als er nach Kriegsende vom Erfolgsverein Manchester City engagiert wird, verlässt der Deutsche, der einst als «Feind» zu St.Helens kam, den Verein als Freund. Doch in Manchester löst die Verpflichtung des deutschen «Nazi-Torwarts» eine grosse Welle der Entrüstung und des Protestes aus…

Anschliessend an den Film unterhalten wir uns mit Gary James. Er ist ein ausgewiesener Experte für die Geschichte von Manchester City und hat auch das Filmteam in historischen Fragen beraten. James fliegt aus Manchester ein, wo er unter anderem auch schon drei Mal die Football History Conference organisiert hat.

The film is on the quest channel tonight about 11 o clock and is on a few more times in the next week
 
If setting your device to record it on Spike, make sure to set it to record both parts, they have some 5 min programme in the middle of it and some devices don't pick it up.
