I have an issue with statues.

I have no doubt that the 4 mentioned are all deserving but I would wait a few years. Maybe let the fans vote once every 10 years. It should not be the norm that you win a title or two and you have to work out who gets the statue. Is KDB half way there? What if Foden scores the winner in a CL final - what if Marhez scores a hatrick. We could end up with a full 11 in bronze.

That's an unbelievable oversimplification of what these three players mean to this club.

I posted this a few weeks ago in the Zaba coming back to the club thread ... I think it's useful to reiterate here in this thread:

I think the statue the club promised Silva at the end of last season ... they're just waiting for Aguero to finish and then they will do a collective one for three ... with Kompany, Silva and Aguero in it ... as all three would have finished 10 years with us each ... and were integral part of all these titles and longevity ... would have been nice to add Zaba (and Yaya probably) on each side but then it becomes from three to a five man line-up ... and then if you reduce that 10 years limit down to get Yaya and Zaba in then a lot of other players come into play ... like Ferna and Hart etc. ... so I don't think Zaba would quite cut into the statues line-up outside Etihad, even though he lives in our hearts just as much as those three ... Welcome back Zaba, in whatever capacity or shape you come in!

I agree those 4 (including Yaya) were the driving force of that era. I'd erect Statues for all 4. While I think Yaya sullied things with his whiny attitude, I'd still erect a statue for him.

The club need not be aspetty as Yaya. He was instrumental on the field. But Aguero, Dave and Komp certainly.

Hopefully not the same designer as the Ronaldo statue otherwise we may end up with the likenesses more akin to Phil Jones, Martin Keown and Diego Costa.

The Good Sheikh and his 'people' will only employ the best, so I expect the statues to be of superb quality and likenesses that fit the players we saw.
