I don’t think it was. Here are his stats for the years before he left to go to Bayern—he was injured for the entirety of the 2019/2020 season.

He was actually performing pretty well before he began agitating for a move and got injured. I think his lower minutes toward the end of the 2018/2019 season was more due to attitude than ability.

And I think Pep would have helped him adapt to the injured much better than he has at Bayern.

A FOREST dwelling 300-year-old witch who placed a curse on Harry Kane has now said she regrets the strength and potency of her spell after watching Bayern Munich’s dramatic exit from the Champion’s League at the hands of Real Madrid.

I feel a little sorry for him. He’s not a ****, or an egomaniac, and clearly has been poorly advised by his brother (agent) and misled by his previous Chief Executive (Levy). He was pretty loyal to Spurs too when others with his talent wouldn’t have been.

He‘s clearly an unsophisticated, pretty dim individual who is ill-equipped for the vipers’ nest that is modern football - and I don’t therefore think he deserves ridicule. It’s hardly a tragedy, given he’s healthy and what he’ll earn over his career, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t worthy of a little sympathy for the poor choices he’s made, given the circumstances under which he made them.
