Anyone claiming what they shouldn't or not paying tax on parts of their income by underreporting need dealing with. All of it is lost money which should be spent on public services. No where near as much as tax avoidance costs the taxpayer’s
HMRC estimated £5.5 billion lost due to tax evasion in 2022-23 – 81% from small businesses (up from 66% in 2019-20
HMRC estimates around £400 million in tax was lost in 2020/21 because of avoidance schemes, and a further £800 million was lost in other forms of avoidance behaviour, i.e underreporting income and writing off personal expenses.
Altogether, that’s a whopping £1.2 billion lost to tax evasion
Took a 20 minute phone call to sort my wife's pip out.I will fight my corner when they come to assess me again , i just got an updated pips award but they will be back for me sometime in the next two years if not sooner. In theory i should be one of those that they get to last
I sometimes think i am the only one they are checking on as they dont seem to be finding the cheats , what are they fucking doing with their time
Having fibro seems to be a grey area in the minds of the dwp , they have been thinking i will get well at some point and that my arm will grow back as well, having had fibro for thirty odd years i think it is safe to say i am not recovering , this year my other pain condition has floored me , i am now a mess of chronic, acute and nerve pain . When they come for me again i will try the phone instead of the forms , this last one took literally a year to get the decision, it is exhausting dealing with them , i dont have the energy now , i wont be a burden on them much longerTook a 20 minute phone call to sort my wife's pip out.
And Kaz?Will do tomorrow
This thread is a complete waste of time. Those who support Labour will defend everything they do, however counter-productive. Those who don’t will disagree, that is life. Main thing is, the country is in deep shit and not getting any better in the short to medium term, political parties don’t actually change anything, but they can influence the people who do. Sadly they are all more interested in being in power, without a clue how to make things better for their voters.
before Labour there was massive strikes in the NHS
before Labour there was nationwide strikes in the our transport system - trains.
before Labour we was squandering millions on a failed Rwandan scheme
before Labour we had a different looking workers rights bills that have now been amended
before Labour our net migration figure was 20% higher
That's just a fraction of the differences of what they have achieved so far. so the 'political parties don't change anything' is just not true.
You forgot to mention that under this Government we have deported more failed asylum seekers / illegal immigrants (over 9000) in the last 14 weeks than the Tories achieved in the last 14 years.
