The Labour Government

It is clearer now, appreciate you taking the time to re-explain, and apologies if I offended, wasn’t my intent. You make a valid point on inexperience, you’ve only got to look at how Labour fared with inexperience in actually governing - I doubt it’s a point that will damaged their election chances.

Thank you and I agree with your last point there :)

Is there any reason he couldn't sell two of his businesses to his children and live for 7 years to incur no IHT?

He'd be a complete rabbit in headlights, fought his whole career against the EU and wouldn't have a clue where to stand when it comes to summits on European security, embarrassing thought.
Starmer on the other hand has spent his life dealing with Prime Ministers and Presidents from all over the globe. He's an expert on European security, and indeed on everything actually.

He is diplomatic and a statesmen, he is clearly working well and making good relations with European leaders and world leaders including Trump, we have benefited by having various trade deals and on security issues - that's good to see isn't it ? and can you envision Farage doing the same?

It's been so normal and relatively balanced the last few days without you...sigh!

And another policy change with unforeseen consequences...

10 years rather than 5 to get British citizenship is getting the Hong Kongers who came here under a BNO passport a bit edgy - not least if their kids go to Uni and have to pay overseas student fees.

Just waiting for him to start saying we shouldn't be supporting Ukraine.

Was that a Tory one or the knee jerk pander to reform labour one?

Who knows. I agree Starmer seems to be doing a good job as European statesman. I just found it amusing that the criticism of Farage was the statement that he is inexperienced at that stuff, when prior to 2024, Starmer himself never went outside the M25.
