The Labour Government

It’s a disgrace / my kids have been to private schools and I am mates with one of the bursars. She says 20 percent are behind on fees and most are just relatively successful hard working people with good jobs such as doctors or lawyers.

They pay significant tax already and 15k a year net is a huge burden. It’s a bloody disgrace and enough reason to not vote for these wankers alone.

Hard working people penalised.

It has made my blood boil today.

Politics of envy.

Keep going I'm almost there, will use your tears as lubricant.

And the two child cap wasn't? Rich people can afford to have kids eh? ... and put them through private education whilst the people who cant afford it .. have to subsidise them

That certainly accelerated it, but it was on the way down before that. Also the mad rush to net zero has put a spanner in their automotive manufacturing, which was the bedrock of their economy. Their public services are almost as bad as ours. Until recently I used to go to Germany on a very regular basis on business as I worked for a very large German corporation. The difference from say 10 years ago is very noticeable.
“Wir schaffen das” hasn’t helped.

It's an interesting policy as the headline figure of 6,500 teachers sounds impressive until you are told that there are over 32k schools in the UK. So roughly 1 in 5 schools will receive one additional teacher and whilst it is a start it's like pissing in the wind. The other issue is of course that the stats show that maybe 20% of pupils who are currently at private schools will move to state schools so around 100 - 120k pupils. Each pupil costs just under £8k per annum so whilst the policy will raise some money, according to Labour's own figures 65% will be lost, whilst according to the Tories the figure will be 123% meaning the policy will cost the country money as opposed to raising it. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
And each school will get 3 extra kids if 20% move. Less than 1 per year group.
The cost per pupil is mostly the fixed cost divided by the number of kids so it’s unlikely to cost that much more for them to be in a state school.

Lawyers and doctors struggling to finance the cost of privately educating their kids.
Wait a minute, what’s that I can hear?

I've often wondered who politicians are referring to when they mention 'hard working people'! They never seem to put a label on them like coal miners, window cleaners, nurses, firemen and those who are firefighters/rescue workers, binmen? And do they include themselves? And it would be helpful if they could point a finger at the slackers.
