The CT is a tax by councils to pay for local amenities. (Parks, street lighting, bin collections, libraries etc) Whether there be one or more in the home is irrelevant for this particular tax

I'm sure it was brought in to get more revenue by getting money from more people rather than the rates where a household paid one bill for the property. The single household discount made it fairer (might even have been 50%) but now they want to scrap the bloody discount, It just isn't fair and many of those losing out will be widows or widowers...
