How is grabbing stuff naive?
How is slating P&O then knocking one of your ministers for doing it naive.?

The simple fact is Starmer is not the person some people thought he was. The only naivety belongs to those people.

Wasn’t referring to the wfa, think that was just a shit policy. By grabbing stuff, do you mean the freebies? I absolutely do think they were naive with that one. On the P&O issue, the transport secretary was absolutely naive to say what she did.

I didn’t say they were only naive though, just that they clearly have been since they’ve come into power. On Starmer, I have no idea what person he is still, which says a lot in itself!

She was honest not naive, the story is Starmer not her, it seems people prefer an honest politician to an hypocritical one. Especially a company suck up tosser.

He may have been naive thinking he wouldn't get caught grabbing but I would call that stupidity. I mean what world has this guy been living in.

He has lost any sort of trust in his character remarkably quick. This doesn't do any of us any good. Another turd in charge yipee.

I do agree with your first paragraph. Depends what lens you put on it, unfortunately the perception is an honest politician to that extent is a naive one!

Linked to your second paragraph too as the only reason we know about most of the freebies is due to Starmer being more honest than others previously about it. Some of the things they declared would never have even been know about previously.

Not sure why anyone would have trusted him anyway from a political perspective though! More than others maybe but he’d already shown he wasn’t a man firmly wedded to political principles.
 
what we have seen is a concerted attack from the R/W press - predictable from Tory K - enlightening from others but what it boils down to is this - City are found guilty and relegated to Div 2. Some players understandably leave and we recruit to the level we need. Pep doesn't renew his contract and we recruit ex-Blue Paul Simpson as coach to get us out of it. The Xmas fixtures are coming up and we are alternating 2nd to 3rd place and the Mail, the Sun, the Star, the Telegraph, the Express et al splash across their back pages how City are failing because after 3 months of the season we are not in the CL places ...........

Yeah coz all the negative things we have discussed never really happened. Even the RW Guardian are now in on it all.

We do have some RW posters going after them with Gusto this should really have not been a surprise. It has happened the other way round for years and years helped by an incredibly shit govt.

One could counter with - but the Tories, laughable whataboutery, how dying of cold is fair if you didn't get yourself a decent private pension or a rather desperate musing about City in the 2nd division.

Oh that's already happened:-)
