The Labour Government

I didn't think we would see the day where a Labour government would enact things like this? Very dissapointing to say the least.

Of more concern from the same article.

‘Currently the government estimates 1.9 million pensioners - around 15% - are in relative poverty.’

My own view, for what is worth, is that the State pension should be a lot higher. The WFA should not be necessary.

I don't dissagree at all. We have one of the lowest pensions in the Western world. Abolishing the WFA just makes things worse.

To be fair, who wouldn’t be envious of someone due to inherit a huge wedge of farmland worth millions and then driving an expensive tractor through a police barrier to protest the off chance you may have to pay some tax on it.

I'm not, I don't envy farmers at all. Being asset rich and cash poor while working very long hours is not something I envy.

I also very much suspect that most farm machinery and tractors are owned by finance companies ? That's the way most businesses operate. Don't be fooled by new equipment and plant, 9 out of 10 times it's not really owned by the people driving it.

Floating charge surely? Fixed charge wouldn't be very practical if it needs repairing or replacing.
