The post before Alan.
The post before Alan.
Never mind. I thought it was pretty straight forward. No big deal. The post before Alan.
I think it's already demonstrable though that the tax this raises is meaningless, more so if it's reduced further which it will be because nobody and certainly not the rich will just gladly pay it.Well, if land values are depressed or fall then the IHT threshold is less likely to be breached and no (or less) IHT will be paid.
Although the same farmers will no doubt protest that the Govt has trashed the value of their farms.
In short they want high value farms and to pay no tax. Sort of having your cake and eating it scenario. Not going to say they are coming across as self-entitled fuckers, but…
Oh you seemed to have missed out that rabid right winger Sir Ed Davey. He was up on the platform with Victoria Adkins in case you missed him.The advocates for farming appears to be Clarkson, Farage, Lowe, Kuntie Plopkins and just seen on TV the woeful Victoria Atkins MP then if there is a fight farming has turned up to a shootout armed with a plastic knife from a Wimpey Bar
I'm not, I don't envy farmers at all. Being asset rich and cash poor while working very long hours is not something I envy.
I also very much suspect that most farm machinery and tractors are owned by finance companies ? That's the way most businesses operate. Don't be fooled by new equipment and plant, 9 out of 10 times it's not really owned by the people driving it.
Well it's not Bob. Most people in business lease plant and vehicles. The payments are spread out making expensive things affordable. I can't believe you do not know this? You mean the equipment is leased. How do they afford the monthly payments? What with them being so poor and all that. And does the lease allow for damages while *checks notes* driving through police barricades?
It all has a bit of a ‘Landed Gentry Go On a Jolly Protest’ vibe with Lord Farquaad leading the way.
Poor rich farmers , can only leave three million to the kids, then they pay only 20% inh tax on the rest whilst the rest of us have to pay 40%
Stop whinging ffs , the rich hate paying tax , barely going to a affect any of them , it is only 4% of
Yes, they all just rocked up, travelling to London from far and wide and stood around in the freezing cold because they had nothing else to do, didn't they ? How dare they have the nerve to protest about something that concerns them.Poor rich farmers , can only leave three million to the kids, then they pay only 20% inh tax on the rest whilst the rest of us have to pay 40%
Stop whinging ffs , the rich hate paying tax , barely going to a affect any of them , it is only 4% of the population
