Each of HMS Queen Elizabeth and Prince of Wales can operate 40 aircraft both I believe will operate 28 aircraft in peace time and both are currently at sea working up with an air group embarked. Magnificent pieces of engineering to be fair.

That was the year before, remember government spending was all over the place in the Covid years.

The graph I put was from the government website so I’d hope it was right!

35 F35s each carrier and we’ve only have 35 delivered so far I believe out of a total of 170 odd. Mostly operated by the RAF with around 15 allocated to the carriers.

I never understood why we didn’t develop a VTOL replacement for the harrier and brought from the yanks. Our planes (be sole UK or joint development with partners) have always been superior to US offerings and that’s not intended to offend the US equipment as it is excellent.

No thanks to the political interference in their construction. Certainly something to be proud of like all our armed forces really. They need more money.
