The next protest vote will sort it.

If not, one can just come on here and bemoan how one hasn’t been listened to again.

Once we’ve left the ECHR, we can vote to leave the Milky Way.

And rational people will say both are. I’d be worried about anyone who thought it was solely one or the other, which admittedly is a lot of people!

Didn't he get voted out of the leadership contest? That was by other politicians. If he lost his seat that would have been down to the state of the party I presume.?

I remember him being by far the sanest Tory in that leadership contest, because of that he didn't stand a chance really:-)

I have noticed over the years that when politicians leave the job or no longer have ambition they become a lot more honest and reasonable in general.
 
There's good and bad with both sides of the spectrum. What dissapoints me most is that people, whichever persuasion just stick to the thing they like no matter how shit they are, for their lifetime, no matter. That's ideology and tbh I wish those people could not vote. The country needs what is best, instead of not the thing I hate. But thats the way nowadays.

It’s a hard habit to break but you could respond through a better political system. PR which forces different political churches to work together, collaborate, and compromise. They are all involved so can’t claim it is the other side’s fault. The system that served Germany so well since WWII

Anything that makes the country work because we seem to be getting more and more broken, and its the politicians (That plenty in here support) that are actually fucking the nation up.

How anyone can support a conservative govn that tanks the economy, or a Labour govn that are slowly taking our rights away is beyond me. They repeatedly fail us, and all anyone can say on here is your lot are worse than our lot, thats all that remains now.

We desperately need to reform our voting system, making it more likely we might vote for something/someone instead of against.
It’s nigh on impossible to get rid of an MP under this system and we have majority governments that the vast majority didn’t actually want.
Before the last election, over 100 seats hadn’t changed hands for over 100 years and 247 hadn’t changed hands in over 50 years.

These figures are somewhat false as well, given many seats that changed hands in 2019 were something of an anomaly with Brexit and Corbin creating a perfect storm.

Trouble is, because their snouts are firmly in the trough, the current government appear to have forgotten how much they supported this when it looked like Boris might be in for 10 years+.

Alas, once you have the keys to power it’s far too tempting to think that if you leave the system as it is, you can hold onto those keys. Changing the system only appeals to those on the outside.

I predict that when the government hits it’s target of achieving the same approval rating as genital herpes, it will begin to talk about the virtues of PR.

Doesn’t make it right though. If we went to war they’d be banging on about the greater good and doing the right thing. Hypocrisy at its finest.

It’s a nothing story but tell that to someone who has been charged and fined for the exact same thing.

Pay a fine and move on.
 
The Labour AM for Caerphilly has died, as sad as it is, this is going to provide a challenge for the Reform Party and indeed the Labour Party..

Bearing in mind there is a full Welsh Assembly election next May, where there will be an additional 36 Assembly Members (from 60 to 96) elected it will be interesting to see just how this vote will pan out.

The additional money required to support this increase on the back of them awarding themselves a 6% increase and the work to be done on the Senedd is unbelievably staggering.... still I guess we are a wealthy country with loads of money to spare.

..... watch this space.
