The problem is they're making it worse by trying to score points against the Tories and vice versa. Things like this can cause proper civil wars.

They all need to shutup and issue unitary statements telling people to go home and behave.

I don't mean an armed civil war, I mean sustained and continued incidents of civil disorder and violence. It has been happening for 3 days now and it isn't going to get better is it? These marches and protests are going to increase.

The political parties can't respond to this by trying to score public political points, they're only going to make it worse.

Have to disagree on this. He’s making this about politics by referring to their political stances. We need the leader to use the language of unity not division.

Sunak has done a far better job in his condemnation:

“The shocking scenes we’re seeing on the streets of Britain have nothing to do with the tragedy in Southport.This is violent, criminal behaviour that has no place in our society.The police have our full support to deal with these criminals swiftly and they must face the full weight of the law.”

Sunak can't tell it as it is, the same right wing forces behind all this shit, are only a cigarette paper away from Reform voters, if that, the same Reform voters the Tories are desperate to woo. Johnson won all those northern constituencies in 2019 by gas lighting that getting Brexit done would get "our country back" and when he fucked up the Tories paid the price.

Sunak is caught between a rock and a hard place, he's trying to win over the same people he's condemning, still it could've been worse, he could've been running a corner shop in one of those forgotten towns, he'd be sweeping up glass this morning.

Explain how, what he said, hasn’t without going in to a diatribe on Sunak when the only voice that matters in all of this is Starmer’s. What Sunak says doesn’t matter one iota.

Starmer has raised it a notch in what he said today, when he should be seeking calm he spoke of division. Thats not what our PM should be doing
