The Labour Government

What exactly do you want him to say?

Badenoch in PMQ doing the same - trying to embarrass the government over past comments. How exactly would that help anything with the UK's having to deal with Trump?
How did sending Labour staff over to the US to work on the Harris campaign ‘help anything with the UK’s having to deal with Trump?’.

Yes.
I just think youngsters need to realize that there are many more options than Higher Education.
As you said earlier, apprenticeships seem to be underrated. As does the premise of entering the workforce at any level, building transferrable skills and then utilizing what you have gained into a better job/career.
Being in the workforce also leads to contacts and networking, which is also extremely useful.

I see too many youngsters who have been allowed unrealistic expectations and then been saddled with student debt because nobody told them the options

Whilst there's nothing wrong with what you are saying in principle the issue is neither the economy or the education system is configured to support this model anymore. The ability to progress organically through the workforce and achieve social mobility has deteriorated hugely in recent years. Too many jobs in too many industries are low paid and/or heavily stratified. It's no good changing the education system without making structural changes within the job market and economy as a whole. Whether the new government has the appetite to do this and reverse the trends remains to be seen.

Nice try.

Do you anticipate ending up having to deal with Trump, or do you try to prevent it?

Yeah, I know, you could just leave it to the Americans, but if you think a Trump presidency is a threat to the security of Europe should you "do nothing"?

Perhaps they could just fill some of the vacancies that exist in the job market. This obsession with everyone going to Uni isn't great for our country. I beleive that last year, we had five times more philosophers graduating that geologists. That's something for them to at least think about even if they aren't that employable.
Makes you think doesn't it?

There will be plenty of leaders around the world holding their noses when they have to deal with Trump. I really hope Labour don't go anywhere near an apology to an individual who has probably never uttered the word "sorry" in his life.

You have to deal with the de facto leaders of any country.

That's just the real world. Chamberlain had to deal with Hitler. Because Hitler was the leader of Germany at the time. The fact he was a complete **** was irrelevant

One of the reasons I would prefer the UK to be in the EU is that I don't want the country to be a lackey of the USA. De Gaulle had the right idea when it came to America. Our common language is a huge disadvantage. They are not 'us'. They are not even our mates when it comes down to it. They are the source of all the political shite that transfers over here - monetarism, populism, libertarianism, neo-liberalism - you name it. Now we will have that turd Farage playing mini-me Trump, and people will fall for it - again!

If they have to eat humble pie so that the country that elected them doesn't get screwed over, then I kinda like those principles.
It's a diplomatic balancing act.

Even moreso as we'll need closer agreements with Europe as an insurance policy which will play into our very own political disruptors hands.

Yeah once the yanks saw the Labour staff over there they couldn't vote Harris quick enou........

Oh they didnt:-)

Anyhow I'm glad Lammy was willing to have a go at a racist until it became awkward then he went for the wrap around instead. He did it for the country though, once the orange nut ball has made America great again he will put the great back in Great Britain. Why? Because Lammy sent him a tweet. If he hadn't god knows what wrath the small handed bigot would have brought upon us.

What a great example to us all to do the right thing

Labour getting in was certainly better than the Tories I feel but I never envisaged the hilarious bonus of the purples throwing away their previous stated decency.(how quickly a false high horse becomes a lame duck)

To save face on a football forum pmsl.

What's a favourite saying of the purples?

You have to own your vote, priceless haha

Sucking up to a racist is very bad

*unless it's someone on my side obviously
