But ...... but...... but..... we were promised that we would have full control of our borders via Brexit.

We do have more control over our borders, but both labour and the conservatives aren’t implementing any.

The eu has no control over its borders at the minute either. This is a bigger issue than just brexit. It’s happening worldwide.

Because it’s not want the people want to hear, but is the truth. (Most only become illegal immigrants after their asylum claim has been rejected or outstay their visa).

It’s also a tiny percentage of the total, but an easy bit of red meat to throw out to the social media frothers and bots.

We have lost people from the EU but replaced them with people from all over to keep the Uni's only just afloat and to work. Small boats are insignificant - see below

We haven’t just replaced them, we’ve tripled the numbers of people. Do you think adding 2 million + people in four years is sustainable?

I never mentioned small boats, this is all legal.

It’s absolutely insane. Is it any wonder people can’t get on the housing ladder, doctors appointment, school places and that’s not even to mention social cohesion.

The conservatives basically created an open door policy for cheap labour.

so we solve it all by bolting the door shut then asking those here already to leave then to get the work they do done by us Brits you abolish cheap labour by massively increasing pay thus massively increasing inflation and we build loads more houses which will be far more expensive as materials and labour costs will be massively up so to make them affordable the wages of prospective buyers will have to massively increase ........ one huge sentence by which I illustrate why 3 word slogans are meaningless.

Ok seems pointless trying to have a conversation with you on this. You’re obsessed with brexit. The prime minister is even concerned by the numbers.

he has just signed an agreement with iraq to stop their people coming here , he has been talking to the french and germany about taking more in, those that pass through them to get to us , he is doing plenty

He has deported about nine thousand since he got in and speeded up the claims collecting dust for the last fourteen years , sooner they are processed the better , claimants want to work not sit in hotels with £40 a week

We desperately need workers in the public sector , esp carers and hospitals , we are built on immigrants after all

That is all he is doing though ...

Returns are divided into forced deportation (from detention or not), voluntary returns (all sorts of reasons including finding out the UK isn't that good), and Port Returns of people refused entry.

Nice bit of backstabbing on Louise Haigh tonight.

I mean she was on the ropes anyway given that she’s close to Sue Gray, but somebody has clearly felt the need to stick the knife in and do away with her.

Not that difficult to imagine where this has come from though when you think about it.

Brexit? and taking control of our borders so the figures have quadrupled since 2014. It’s a good thing to have the head of DPP as leader he’s going to call all the lies out from the last 10 years.:)

For the last 10 years the government brought thousands of immigrants in to do the jobs UK citizens don’t want for a million different reasons, one is employers don’t pay enough so cheap labour from abroad was the only way to fill the vacancies.
It’s a huge commitment for the Labour Party to turn around the immigration numbers and the unemployment figures if real jobs don’t exist.
