Jaguar announce 500 job losses today - it really is like anything he goes near turns to shit IMG_5682.jpeg

Not going to mention the quadrupling of tariffs for their biggest market?

Or the fact it’s a round of voluntary redundancies for managers which happens in big companies all the time.

No, much more fun to blame Starmer.
It was Starmer who said he'd protect their jobs, not me or you.

Keep on making excuses and justifying failure, it's your right.

You expect them to read past the headlines?

As a guess I would say stopping producing jaguar cars would result in some job losses, im guessing not everyone could be transfered to Landrover.

He knew about the tariffs when he made his commitment.

Most 16 year olds aren't joining the Army though. Nor are they getting the Living Wage from employers.

The reality is they aren't getting 40 hours, full paid breaks, they aren't getting the Living Wage and they aren't getting 5 shifts a week. It strains credulity to suggest that a few thousand examples where some meet this criteria is enough to justify giving the blanket vote to all 16-17 year olds, who will likely vote for Reform, given their popularity right now amongst that demographic.

Sorry - I read the bit of your post which said "if you can find a 16 year old who...". I'd suggest that there are quite a few of them, even if most are probably still in education. There must be plenty of jobs which aren't in supermarkets. I know I worked full time in a factory at that age.

The Reform thing is a bit of a myth. They're doing better than the Tories, who for a while looked to have virtually no support from young people, but even the polls with the highest Reform vote are still showing a huge majority of younger voters going Lab/LD/Green. That's the 'coalition' that won the last election, and all the polling suggests that despite Labour's woes, it would still hold up at another General Election.

1.5% of the workforce.

They announced 1500 cuts in 2018, 4500 in 2019, 1500 in 2021. 200 as recently as the beginning of this year.

If you read the articles around the time of the Trump tariff announcements, it was talking about sites closing, many thousands of potential job cuts, whole communities suffering etc. This is clearly nothing like the same scale.
