Pretty much. Quite obviously Reform and Conservatives would be worse, but I'm pretty shocked at how shite this government have been so far. Most of their criticism comes from their own, mostly avoidable errors of judgement. A complete lack of common sense and inability to read the room. Of course they have their hands tied on several issues that they have inherited but they haven’t helped themselves one bit in other areas.
Hopefully they can steady the ship over the next 12 months because as it stands there’s no other party that’s capable of taking over and doing any better.
Why the fuss now and not last year, or the years before that?Time to assure the process to ensure it doesn’t happen again.
Yeah I’ve no dog in the fight so to speak, the uk hasn’t been my home for a long time and won’t anytime soon so I can only comment from afar on what I’ve seen since they came to power and whilst they’re not as bad as some of the cranks on here will have you believe they certainly need to up their game if they want to be taken seriously.Pretty much. So the governor was working with reform ?It just seemed too convenient that immigration had fallen out of the news for a few days in a week when only 3 boats arrived. Jenryck and Pochin pipe up to throw some red meat to the gammonerati and then this happens to get the "patriots" angry again.
Without irregular immigration Reform and the likes of Jenryck and Philp become irrelevant, or have to answer questions about other policies, that we know they don't have.
Usually nobody cares as it’s some petty crook absconding from an open prison. In this case, it’s obvious that it brings so much attention just because of who it is and what they did. However, there are those who aren’t really arsed about the system and are gleeful that they can use it as political gain, mainly by those who have created the chaos in the first place. Why the fuss now and not last year, or the years before that?
I do Lammy was very big on commending the police for arresting him, they did fantastically well turning up and actually arresting him he said.Well, I'm sure you'll now congratulate Labour for his being "recaptured".

Indeed.Jamaica looks like it's going to get fucked up by this Cat 5 hurricane, hope out government are ready to help out once it has passed.
He’s off tomorrowI do Lammy was very big on commending the police for arresting him, they did fantastically well turning up and actually arresting him he said.
In other news a baker has today made some bread:-)
If hes deported within a week as stated Labour will get a big thumbs up from me, no probs.
Have you got a link to this that isn’t Facebook, who seemed to pick up on it from a Talk TV interview. Sounds very much like bullshit.£111m given to Pakistan for family planning! Just sums this government up!!!

I’d think that through a little bit more, unless your expectations were that Labour were going to reverse the entire consequences of austerity in a year. Given your list, I’m not sure you were though?
I don't recall any Tory ministers resigning. Perhaps you can provide a list???
I’d think that through a little bit more. Either Labour didn’t know it was a problem and aren’t across the remit or they knew it was a problem and did fuck all about it.
Their handwringing on this will do them no favours no matter what the underlying causes are (which I have some sympathy for).
Well, no. If people think a human error by someone in the prison service is worthy of sackings at a government level a year into getting office then the political debate is even more screwed than I thought.
Who tried to score political point though? Lammy. Blames austerity blah blah blah.
Yet within a day they introduce a new process to fix it. So it didn’t require years of investment to fix or anything other than a simple new process….. which they could have done the day they got in to power. Lammy wants to make it political so let’s make it political.
We’re at a point where there’s no real political debate, just which side you’re on and what lines you can use to attack the other. No they haven’t, they’ve put in additional steps to mitigate it from happening further. They haven’t said they’ve fixed it. They don’t even know yet exactly what the human error was or the full underlying causes, they’re doing an inquiry to provide that.
Their interim fix is adding even more additional strain on resources that are saying they are struggling already.
Even so, I wasn’t talking about scoring political points, that’s inevitable on both sides and wasn’t my point.. This error does not justify sackings at a government level a year into office.
The only thing i would say is the minister for prisons who I believe is Lord Timpson should surely be aware of this large increase in prisoners being wrongly released. No they haven’t, they’ve put in additional steps to mitigate it from happening further.
