The Labour Government

The correct choice not going back on a clear promise made. Also it (hopefully) will focus attention on other streams and/or an attempt to look at the taxation system as a whole. Labour has a great opportunity (given its massive majority and at least 3.5 years left) to deliver some real change
If they were going to do anything radical they would have started work on it by now tbf, From the outside it looks like whack a mole on unpopular choices, they are wasting time and energy waiting for a popular choice to pop up.
Unfortunately there isn't one, if they keep at this they will collapse from exhaustion or have the hammer taken off them.

If they are then the Government are certainly helping it.
It’s been obvious for many years that the British media (esp BBC) would rather discuss conflict between parties and inflame division amongst the populace rather than promote any improvement made by the incumbent.

Just look how much airtime the frog is getting compared to Ed Davy.

And im sure you have coincidentally come to this conclusion during Labours time in office:-)

Did she say categorically she was increasing income tax in the press conference?

Lol. She categorically ruled it out in July, the previous budget and in the manifesto. She didn’t m, nor did any minister, rule it out when asked in the last few weeks. You’re not stupid mate you know exactly how these things work.

Not going to happen but I’d rather see them raise income tax and then Reeves resign.
Agreed that raising income tax is the least worst option.

I actually think Reeves - underwhelming though she is - is about the best they've got. I can't imagine her replacement doing any better and probably worse.

What she needs is 200 deluded Labour back benchers to resign. Not happening of course, so any trimming of the completely out of control government spending, is off the table. We just have to plough into the dirt further and faster.
