The Labour Government

The vast majority are, the girls in the office maybe not but kids are grown or they haven’t got any yet.course the lads out in all weathers have to graft for their wages so it doesn’t suit that many.
So your company pays "the girls in the office" less and avoids taking on women with children?

To be honest I think you’re a little potty if you expect young girls in office to be paid the same as blokes grafting their balls off outside in all weathers financing the company. I suspect you’ve spent your working life on the states payroll.

Until the budget, anything is simply speculation, yet the press and media stir the pot and suck people into believing they will break a manifesto promise

If this was a Daily Mail story I’d largely agree with you, but it’s from The Guardian, the least likely paper that would want to cause trouble for the government just for the sake of it.

I’m not sure the blokes on your site have thought this through thoroughly mate.

Did she say categorically she was increasing income tax in the press conference?
They do this thing all the time, have a leak to the press or hint at it and then sit back and gauge the reaction from both the public and there own party, it was no coincidence that almost at the same time there was talk about lifting the child benefit cap and WASPI.

...or I'm someone who knows that courts have ruled that staff in female-dominated roles have historically been underpaid in relation to those in male-dominated positions.

A hint, which has been perceived as a statement
Why did she hint at it if she wasnt thinking about doing it.?
She was just testing the water.
Aside from that I think she should raise income tax if it means getting out of this mess.
We still have another 3 budgets with this gov which we will have the same argument every year .

So....

What will be used to make up for the Income tax u turn?

A substantial tax on profiteering?

1% tax on any houses sold over £1,000,000?

A new wealth tax created to make the rich pay their fair share?

The treasury telling health/transport and other public services to cut wages/pay rises/support services?

Logan's run style TV show to save on pensions payouts?

Be interesting to see what the chancellor has in mind. Bound to be something that won't affect her donors.
  • The people who could afford to pay more tax know how to avoid paying it and will continue to do so.
  • The people who milk the system know how to do it and will continue doing it.
  • Your ordinary working man who is paid through the PAYE system will be the one to bear the brunt.

To make the country better she needs money from somewhere. We can speculate where that might come from but I see no point in getting all hot and bothered, as some have, until she reveals the budget.

Fucking brilliant! The media tell everybody that they are going to see income tax hikes, whipping those up who care to listen, and when they get wind of it not happening, whip people up for not doing so.

It’s never ending.
