My experience with LBC is they are very genuine about callers. And why shouldn't even a Reform voter agree with him doing something they agree with and take the time to call in, after all it's not as if they've got much positive to shout about regarding Reform themselves.

I think about half of NHSE staff (probably more) are regional. They are basically the old SHA staff that existed prior to NHSE being created. My guess is that SHAs or a form of will be created again and for capital investment a national confirmation at head office will always be needed .So your sign off layers will still exist, just called something else. The reason for this is that the NHS is too big for 4-5000 people sat in Victoria (and a few in Leeds) to oversee. We shall see though.

Removing unnecessary burdens makes perfect sense (and believe me i’ve seen some ridiculous stuff in that regard) but the point remains that the NHS is under managed.

Policy is to address a specific issue, a plan are the actions/steps to achieve an objective.

Let’s take the renters rights bill you mentioned, what is the point of the bill? To improve renters rights, ok so why is that a good thing? Because it’s the right thing to do to help those whose housing situation is vunerable. Ok great, its seems like a good thing to me but it’s a policy to support an ideology (other ideologies on renters are available).

You could say that Reeves’s “fiscal rules” on the economy are a plan. What’s missing is the coherent steps to get to that goal, and, believe it or not, this government is more interest in social issues than businesses which doesn’t usually lend itself well to a coherent economic policy.

The way I read your second paragraph said the budget problems that Reeves faces are all down to the Tories, you stated it as fact (which is wrong) but in your first sentence you’d complained about political commentators stating things as fact when they don’t actually know. I may have misread what you meant of course.
 
As to Andy Burnham getting into parliament via a bi-election, that's not a given.
Is there a safe seat in the North West for Labour? Reform or a Green or a left/Ethnic Muslim candidate will challenge everywhere.

Thoughts on the asylum seeker question. Is it right to take the stance that these people shouldn’t be given a permanent pass, and having to move back when conditions are right?

Seems sensible to me. I always thought that if something happened in the UK that put my life, and family at risk, I’d try to get to Canada or Australia where I have family, lesser to Germany, Belgium or Netherlands, where we have friends. But, when clear, I’d expect to come back home.

I'd try and get to Liverpool. Only an hour away and not part of the UK.

I'd be off like a shot as soon as I could get back though.
