Starmer is having a mare over his focus on Covid exit strategy
Ha, I’ve never once ventured into the politics thread, but felt the need in order to see whether this had been discussed, and yes you’ve just posted exactly my thoughts.

I’m not into politics in the slightest, but what the fuck is he on about? How on gods earth can you try to get on the governments back about an exit strategy when we’ve not even reached the peak?

Fucking idiot.

Yet the Govt. are leaking to the FT about their exit plans.
Point is because they've done fcuk all testing it's difficult to formulate a detailed strategy.
That's what Starmer could be trying to expose.

Totally disagree.

It’s our most important future move.

Fuck it up and we’re at square one again.

We do but we are nowhere near knkwing what would be and he needs to address the ineptitude we are seeing presently.

Any pre-emtively announced exit plan before we are ready could leave the public confused and slowly breaking the lockdown rules.

On this I actually think the government is right to not announce it yet untol it is needed and necessary.

Naive to concentrate on the one issue when more pressing covid ones are happening.

It could just be 3 weeks away.

He is addressing other issues, he’s focusing on this one as a priority because it’s the most important.

You must see that openly talking about an exit strategy even if it is only 3 weeks away is fuckwittery. The great British public shouldn’t be given much notice if any certainly not 3 weeks and that in itself is a presumption. Starmer has just been put in charge of a pretty hopeless political party and feels the need to say something. He should have fought that urge. He should be urging the government, in a non combative way, to focus on the safety of the most vulnerable at this time. Not a good start.
