The Labour Party

"Tory enablers"

Did the SNP offer to do a backroom deal with Labour?

I understood Labour (with 13 seats out of 63 on Edinburgh City Council) decided they'd work to find consensus, and the SNP and the Greens refused.

It would be nice if just every so often 'labour' could see their way clear to actually oppose Tory policies like this. I personally think labour could also be doing more to pressure the govt over fuel /energy prices too - unless of course they are just as deeply in the pockets of the energy industry as the govt.
The average wage should be about £6k a year higher if wages had kept pace with inflation over the last 12 years apparently. It would be nice to see labour seeming to push the govt a bit on that too - perhaps even supporting the RMT?

Yeah I agee. It's almost as if they wouldn't do anything different .... except behave a bit better. In terms of welfare it shouldn't be a surprise.
