The Labour Party

Bottom line is, Union influence is mistrusted round here and many other places because it involves some weird alliances and accomodations internationally, that are misaligned with the long standing democracies we need to keep as partners. Saudi Arabia is a shame. But it's predictable. They don't interfere openly with Europe. Accomodating Russia against the EU, that was a big no-no. I feared the Tories might have done it. Indeed, they may have done so tacitcly by letting the state get bogged down in infighting leaving the door open for Russia and China. Sure, they then turned on Russia... but.. I dunno. I am sure however International Socialism's disdain for, lets see... the EU, the US, means that moment could have come catastrophically late... in fact I imagine we'd still likely be waiting for arms shipments to Ukraine. Because humanitarism. LOL.

Nah. There is strength in this country and the west that I can feel okay with. People take that sense, and use it to missell their own shit scams and frauds, for sure. But the economy, and most of the institutions, along with the longstanding democratic partners. That's what this country has to retain to be of any value. I think an international socialist would disagree and say they were ready to be ripped up. Fine, in principle, all could be much better. But getting to that state is a different matter. Your enemies will support you ripping it down because they know it leaves you weaker, and the job of improving on what was there to the degree people want, takes more political strength than our finely balanced democracies allow except in the most exceptional circumstances. I'm talking, nothing much short of WW3, or it's - mostly - business as usual, or democracy and freedom of expression and the structures of power will resist any major change in the core of British institutional and political ideology. What is possible with things as they are? Tread gently, get your foot in the door, and then find out. Because laying it up front starts a battle that is extremely unlikely to go your way. That's what the opposition has to contend with. That is the reality of Britain.

Just watching Granada Reports and they were reporting from the Labour Party annual conference from Liverpool.
They were interviewing some scouse scarecrow looking MP, who couldn't wait to tell us she supported the Liverpool Republican Party, another silly **** who will see the Labour Party hemorrhage votes.

Every party has their weird fringe. The Tories tend to get theirs elected as MPs - Fabricant, Bone, Chope, Francois etc and even government ministers - Rees Mogg, Braverman etc etc.

Used to be a member of the labour party back in the day, for me it was the party of equality ,social mobility, and trying to make the country a decent place to live in. I could be here all night giving you the reasons why i no longer vote for them.
