The Labour Party

If you research the actual woman she mentions helping people who have overstayed their visas or/and are here illegally.

And you don't understand my post?

There isn't any legal advice that she is offering that's illegal in the clip.

It's all standard legal practice. People may have overstayed their visas because they might have been persecuted in their home country (for being a political dissident, or sexual or ethnic minority) or due to serious chronic health conditions.

In certain circumstances these are valid reasons to make a successful claim under human rights legislation.

If she has been coaching clients to embellish and lie, it's an offence that would get her struck off from her profession. There's no suggestion of that by GB News though, they know not to do it because they don't have evidence and would quickly find themselves losing a libel case.

Better to stir the pot in such a way that people fill in the blanks.

What, a solicitor saying that those who formally had permission to stay, to actually go down the legal route to legitimately remain in the country, is wrong?

Her wording was shite, I agree, but what is she doing that she shouldn’t be? Making money from re-registering people is not illegal, she’s actually doing us all a favour as I don’t see the government doing anything to register or remove those affected.

More distraction to keep people divided and angry, I’ll leave you to it.

No you stated that she was aiming at those wanting asylum, if you overstay you should be removed imo, excuses can't be made that you couldn't claim asylum that would be absurd.

She's a Vulture.

Do you know this for a fact?

Is it possible that someone who came to the UK as a student may have embraced their homosexuality or trans identity and it is now unsafe for them to go home because of the persecution they'd encounter on their return?

They've run out of funds for further studies and they aren't eligible to work full time or meet the requirements of a work permit.

That's just one example, to highlight that things can change over time.

It's not always as black and white as people wanting to cheat the system.

Even the Government's harsh new laws admit that there are some valid reasons for overstaying, because they know complete expulsion for everyone isn't "reasonable" and some people would have valid claims

It is, government agencies know that when someone has exhausted their eligibility for appeals under the standard immigration route they are entitled to seek advice and make one under human rights law.

And they are given advice not to prejudice or inadvertently disrupt such legal actions by how they handle people they have a legal responsibility for accomodating, e.g. someone who arrived as an unaccompanied asylum seeking child but is now an adult.

This isn’t a discussion about the vast majority of law professionals who act with integrity and help clients to the best of their abilities.

It’s about the bad eggs as well you know.

Suggesting they are doing nothing wrong is silly and goes against the SRA who have recently closed down 3 firms due to their malpractice surrounding immigration.

But not the solicitor doorstepped by GB News.

The Tories are plainly trying to link "lefty lawyers" with illegality and with the Labour Party.

Anyway, people who do things wrong are entitled to legal representation. Even Liar Johnson, and we paid for his lawyers to lie on his behalf.

How do you know she’s a bad egg?
Because some GB News bellend told you?

Just because she refuses an interview after being accosted in a car park by someone with a clear agenda that she had previously turned down a request proves nothing.

She might be a bad egg and she might not be, but basing your judgment on the say of a bellend with an obvious agenda suggests a certain prejudice in the first place.

The damning information on those firms was gained by serious investigative journalism.

If GB News thinks she's up to no good they can use the same methods not doorstep and personally target specific individuals because they are also Labour councillors.

Find the wrongdoing and then her political party is a relevant fact.

As far as I know, they don't use investigative methods, apart from rogue employees catfishing people or Nigel Farage being driven around in a luxury car so he can loiter in hotels or gawp at people on dinghies.

Being a lawyer is all about the fine points of the law.

Any fool knows what murder is. A lawyer is someone who can persuade a court that, for some obscure reason, it was not murder, but manslaughter, insanity, self-defence, GBH or whatever. There will always be grey areas. But how do you prove a genuine illegal act on the lawyer's part? 1. The lawyer/client relationship is privileged. 2. The lawyer can always swear blind that the client misunderstood their advice. Where is the witness to disprove it? 3. A lot of these issues are fine distinctions in law anyway, that 99% of the population is not qualified to judge. Only actual judges are, and even judges don't always agree, which is why we have appeal courts and the supreme court.
