The Labour Party

No, it’s offence dependent. If this was done by a Tory MP I wouldn’t give a shit either. And I say that as someone who has grown to despise the Tories and conservatives. And their supporters. In fact anyone over sixty is now suspect in my eyes. Over fifty and you get a tiny bit of leeway.

Yeah sorry I literally don't believe you, you may believe it in your head mind. I like to give the benefit of the doubt I'm good that way so I'm going for deluded.

Awwww please give me a bit of leeway as well @BobKowalski I am incensed at what the present government has been doing (I didn’t vote for them) and do not support the toerag tories in any shape or form.
Plus of my over 60 yr old friends only one isn’t voting Labour and she’s voting Green because she doesn’t approve of the Labour Party nominee in her constituency.
So don’t cast us all aside please, pretty please. :-)

Well okay, if you insist…

Besides, I’m 63 so I need to cut myself some slack as well :)

Bob's keeping a book with everyone's DOB in it, come the day of the revolution it's up against the wall.

But at least everyone left will get a red book :)

If she's done something wrong then yep she should defo get done like the rest of us should expect to.

You can also have a debate about whether being found guilty of something like this makes someone unfit for office (hasn't she said herself she'd fall on her sword if found to have been up to no good?).

However, anyone comparing it to the large scale plundering and pillaging of the pirates who have been riding the UK for the last few years is either acting in complete bad faith or needs their heads testing. As false equivalences go it's more than taking the piss.
This is all about the right being able to say that they’re all the same.

How have the police even opened this case, a case that cannot be prosecuted as it’s outside of the permitted period, on all counts. You know why, because the Tories have put pressure on the Commissioner and they now have their story. However, the likes of the Mail didn’t want this, they just want her to publish her whole tax returns so that they can weed through them, a bit like UEFA and the PL did with us, to try and find any ounce of wrong doing to further attack her and Labour with.

It’s become quite clear what all this is about and it’s not about the law, it’s all about trying to bring Labour down to their level.

Yep. Beergate 2. The noise is all they want. The outcome will be the same as beergate 1.

Whilst they pilfer off more billions in the background, out of focus.

Agree with the first paragraph. Shame such standards aren't upheld by the shysters actually running the country.

Second paragraph sums it up. It's a weak attempt at deflection. That the accused has come out and said, with confidence, that she'll resign if found guilty; well that tells how far this will go.

Not sure anyone has, the only question is what standards do we hold our politicians to?, some seem to change to suit their team. As an opposition politician you cant really talk about corruption and taking money from fiddling money from the public then go and do it yourself.

That's my view anyhow but some seem to suddenly accept that politicians should be supported because you know it's only a little bit of corruption or whatever crime it is.

Wasn't aimed at you as I think you post in good faith, unlike some of the cheeky chappies on here.

This whole question of standards in public life is really important because they've gone to pot so badly and it's a major problem; but it's one that'll have to wait till after the match!

OK, I think standards in public life should be much higher. And that everyone, from Dave Spart on the left to the tin-pot Hitlers in Reform should be bound by the same rules. What's more, anyone breaking the law should be automatically thrown out of Parliament. There should be no question of resigning, of recall petitions, or anything else.

But do you know what, that's a very radical viewpoint to hold. In this matter, I would likely be regarded as a far-left extremist.
