The Labour Party

A lot of firms employ people on 4 day week contracts at present, why making it more frequent as long as productivity isn't affected seems a reasonable idea.

Who doesn't want an extra day off it offered.

I would make the working time directive 35 hours to be honest, I really don’t like working.

My sickness record is fine, thankfully. However, I believe some managers at our place telephone the unwell employee at midday to see if they are better and now able to come into work. Maybe understandable for some conditions but for stress or flu??

Yeah mine is good as well I have only had one back to work meeting and it didn’t go well for them haha, you just have to stick up for yourself I find.

Er, no I'm not.

I employ one person at the moment. If I ask them to do the same amount of work in less time then either they are going to tell me to fuck off or the standard of their work is going to suffer. If I give them less work to do because they will be working less hours then I'm not going to pay them as much.

So, we're both losers.

Can I ask, are you a business owner who employs anyone?

We work longer hours yet have lower productivity than most countries in Europe. Higher productivity is not the natural outcome of making people work longer hours just as lower crime rates are not the natural consequences of longer and tougher prison sentences nor dismissing symptoms of the menopause for fear of swathes of women becoming slackers a sign of healthy, balanced thinking.

And as you asked I’m self employed for the last two decades not that it has any relevance to a discussion on macro economics.

Absolutely. Especially when the line manager is hounding you simply to tick boxes in preparation for their next attempt at promotion.

Something very British about wanting everyone to work 60 hours a week.

40 hours over 5 days is enough for anyone and whilst i can see certain business being able to cope with a 4 day week, the majority will not entertain such an idea.

Please let Len know you posted this, it'll make his day.

PS: You're an idiot.
Ah, the personal insult thing, I could call you a fucking prick but I won’t.

Well you kinda just did
Well spotted, I’ll refrain from discussing politics with you looney lefties!! As I have mentioned before I’ve never voted anything other than Labour in my life. I’m middle of the road working class and proud of it. However, I can’t take to Corbyn and his ilk, he’s out of his depth and his policies are fiscally unrealistic. I’m not vindictive (apart from slagging off the Dippers) and at the end of the day we’re all blues so it’s not all bad is it?

Who was the player who said

Ref if I call you a **** will you send me off?

Of course

What if I just think it?

I can’t send you off for thinking it.

Okay, ref I think you’re a ****

The ref then sent him off, always makes me laugh that one.
Judge in court before sentencing:

Has the defendant got anything to say for himself?

Defendant

Fuck all

Judge to recorder

What did he say?

Recorder

Fuck all

Judge

I could have swore I saw his lips move

Corbyn may be the Leader of the Labour Party but he's definitely not the leader of the Labour Party.

You also know nowt about each poster who may be socialist but seem to classify them all as the same.

Which to me is quite ridiculous, I, to my knowledge have every been diagnosed as a loiny, and have never been a corbyn acolyte as posts over the time will prove.

Upto now you have called me

Under 35 which was wrong
A corbyn fan which is wrong
loony left which is wrong

Spot on even though i am a right wing racist, xenophobic nazi who denies climate change amongst other heinous thought crimes as determined by my input on here ;-)

Na, I guess there’s plenty on here who voted Labour during their lifetime but like me don’t want to see the party dragged back 40 years. Thatchers government was brutal to the working class and got away with it because there was no credible alternative. I don’t put everyone in the same bracket at all and just because we have different views doesn’t make either of us right or wrong.

As for the other points it is a guess but you do have really left wing sympathies which can be associated with Corbyn, however as a non Corbyn supporter who would you prefer as Labour Leader to realistically challenge Johnson?

Don’t take it personally, I have friends from all sides of the political spectrum, we all have our faults and good traits, we tend not to discuss politics because you can’t make people change their mind on something they feel strongly about.

I’m not being rude but as I said I’ll not post again as my point of view is clearly invidious in the eyes of some on here.

Post again mate.

Always post again and give your honest opinion.

Post what you like when you like, and accept some may disagree.

I get told I am wrong many a time and disagree with many but if would be shite if we all agreed with each other.

I only called you out on the sweeping generalisation of labour members you did, we all generalise at some point though

But never feel unwelcome, we are all daft berts in the end even if we all dont agree politically.
