The Labour Party

This is deeply worrying.

more and more tales of a slow erosion of equilibrium amongst who will be allowed in the high levels of the party and less involvement from members amd affiliates deemed unsuitable for the leaders vision

I’ve just caught up with Lisa Nandy’s views over the last few weeks.

They’re actually unelectable again, despite how much integrity Starmer has.

It’s his fault for appointing her but fuck me, he’s got his work cut out for him.

What a stratergy from labour HQ.

We need fresh ideas so let's consult Peter Mandelson on the way forward.

Most likely way into power as things look now is through a coalition with the SNP by promising another indy-ref. Whether that's a good idea or indeed may decimate the labour vote in England I don't know.

If this is the strategy Labour are going down, they are done for, if they are not already.

The Tories will just stand in 2024 saying “vote Labour for another independence referendum” and literally nobody in England, but for the odd city centre middle class, latte sipping ideologue, will put a cross anywhere near their name.

Very few in England want the Union broken up and Labour using the toxic SNP to get into power is a strategy that will put them in mither.

Even if they succeed, if Scotland votes yes, they will be known as the worst government in history.

If they decide to side with wee Krankie's mob, an 80 seat Tory majority will soar well past the 100 mark. Any party aligning with them is doomed, well, the LibDems can align with who they like as they're irrelevant anyway, but going down that road is suicidal imo.

SNP are toxic?? I think a great many people in England would not be averse to Scotland going independent, I would say the Tory govt are in another league if we are talking toxic.
Labour are done anyway, as unelectable now as they were 2 years ago, it will split eventually and it needs to quite frankly.
Starmer is utterly clueless, a vacuum of a leader and he is well on the way to isolating the left of the party. A high number of former labour voters in Scotland have turned to the SNP anyway, including me.

Without PR though such a split would end in perpetual Tory rule.

I used to house share with a Bristolian girl that wanted to vote SNP in England after watching TV debates. If only we can find more idiots like Vote Leave managed to.

Yes. They are the most toxic political party on the British Isles at the moment.

You can vote for whoever you like and you don’t need to tell anyone about it.

Scottish Independence in England is 80/20% against/for, polling wise, and hasn’t changed much from 20% for, for many many years.

In polling terms, this is a huge number in favour of the Union, and its even more favourable than the monarchy and only 4% behind the NHS, in terms of public opinion in favour of it, in England.
