Why? You take the shitposting position in most threads. Who cares what Diane Abbott said 14 years ago on a show she got paid to appear on. Ed Miliband obviously didn't because he made a shadow minister.

There are people in the cabinet who have said much worse and don't get half the abuse.

He's never hidden the fact that he is a shit-poster. Can't be arsed interacting with him, don't find it a positive exercise for the 1 in 10 posts he says something worthwhile or interesting.

I strongly disagree with some posters on here but I’ve never put them on ignore and never will because we are here to discuss, argue, disagree and agree.

This particular forum brings out the worst in many of us and I include myself in that and sometimes we have to remind ourselves it’s just the fucking internet.

Indeed. But it is obvious when some posters are more interested in shit-posting than genuine engagement.

If social media didn't have the ability to disengage with people it would be a much worse place.

He is probably closer to my own views than yours, but most of his posts (in general, not just with me) are clearly for trolling purposes.

Over a pint, there would be a fag paper between most in here politically but in true social media form, this place morphs into some fictitious battle between the left and right and any sort of disagreement means into the opposition box you must go.

That said it’s like crack cocaine this place, love it.

What irks me is the sheer hypocrisy of some on here. We have 3 threads on this first page of female MP’s getting absolute dogs abuse, often more than merited. These threads filled with the exact same posters every time yet as soon as another female MP is mentioned the toys are thrown out of the pram and it’s the same old tired accusations of misogyny and/or racism to try and shut it down.

Priti Patel thinks that’s pretty fucking hilarious ;-)

What’s hilarious is the reason certain threads on certain people have a larger than normal number of posts is because rather than accepting someone has said/done something daft they just throw accusations or deflections that a child wouldn’t fall for. This in itself creates more posts.

Well look at the amount of shit blah de blah gets I wonder why they say? Because you are part of it numb nuts.

Posters on here will argue with each other all day long but question their logic, bias or deficiencies as people and that gets them running for the ignore button.

Im sure if Patel had said similar they would have pulled the laughable devils advocate card out.

Problem is there aren't many decent second hand EV's around if they want to get rid of Ice engines they need to make it affordable to obtain an EV not price poorer people out of car ownership.

It’s not. Diesel cars are the worst for air pollution which is responsible for respiratory and other health issues and premature deaths.

Nobody not using a commercial vehicle needs to use a diesel car in zones 2 and 3 in London.

People can always get a petrol car instead. If you want to drive a Diesel, don't live in built-up urban areas.

According to figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders (SMMT), the Euro emissions have had a significant influence in reducing emissions.

It states that since 1993, carbon monoxide levels have been cut by 82% for diesel-engined cars and 63% for petrols and particulate matter is down by 96%. Since 2001, nitrogen oxide is down by 84% and hydrocarbons are down by 50% in petrol-engined cars.

A modern Euro 6 is far less polluting than a previous generation petrol but no one will call for them being banned from the streets will they?

Virtue signalling, money making as I said.

The main reason that there were so many Diesel cars in UK is that in 2001 the Gov decided in its wisdom that the C02 emissions were the be all and end all as Diesels are more fuel efficient the emissions per mile are lower hence the lower cost to tax. As we now know the NOX emissions are bad but these vehicles were produced and sold with a gov backed message that they were better for the environment.
