The Media Against Pep?

I think folk in here are defending a "free press" when what they are really defending is a diverse press (meaning diversity of ownership). True diversity of ownership does not mean one rag is owned by a landed gent and another by a faceless stateless corporation.

There is very little left to defend in the mainstream media in this country, it's all Pravda brought to you by News Corp ( I love that name, it does exactly what it says on the tin).

Quite right.

I'd invite anybody on the forum to define what a "free press" actually looks like, and how it might be achieved in a sickeningly-corrupt state like Britain.

If people can't see it already, how do you wake them up to how the establishment stitches it all up? The media rarely question them, and laugh all the way to the bank whilst we are lapping up their shit.

A collective sense of anger and awakening is bubbling under, but the media ensure that the result of this is directed to the political right.

I might have mentioned this previously, but I fucking hate Murdoch, I really do.

I've just posted a rather long view in the Guardiola thread but since - and to further reinforce my point in that post more broadly - Michael Crick (news journalist and a Utd fan) has just tweeted the following

"In 1995, in a v similar MOTD interview to Guardiola, Motsen asked SAF re 3 Keane dismissals. SAF walked out and cowardly MOTD never played it"

Listened to a bit of talkshite before whilst driving and they had some cockney journalist in talking about Pep. Couldn't believe the shit he was coming out with

Can't believe they're making so much out of this innocent comment he's made about not being a manager when he's 65, didn't everybody know that anyway

Few of the gems he came out with

"Pep treats journalists appallingly. Ferguson used to as well but at least did it properly

The owners will be furious with Pep for these comments

He's not the great manager everybody thought he was

We might have only had 10 men but it was only Burnley

Pep might walk"

Genuine question mate, why do you listen to talksport?

Guardiola will be using this to encourage players to turn the etihad into a fortress where it doesn't matter what the opposition does, or how bad the referees do, we will win regardless. for example what did we do for the first 20 mins when we had 11 men? Mot much. Players must and will improve

And fans must respond likewise.

You have to do everything you can to succeed and this will just be encouragement to do so. Expecting City players and fans to respond

The Mirror has put one piece online that is taken from a supposed body language expert....you couldn't make this shite up. The hatchet job is out in force and is one that was being discussed while back

They want him to fail, and be able to say that English football won.

Yeah just saw that

The rags giving him shit for this in the replies is mindblowingly brainless

Maybe if pep had shagged his sister in law, or poked a rival manager in the eye or brought his son up to beat up women then he would be held up as a shining beacon by the media .
