I met Paulo Wanchope in Sainsburys in Cheadle the morning after we got relegated at Ipswich. I was knackered from the trip back and was wandering around in a dazed fashion and saw him. He saw me wearing my City shirt, smiled briefly and darted off to another aisle. A few aisles later, I saw him buying bags and bags of crisps. Fearing he was going to get some stick for being relegated he was a bit sheepish but I was giving it "Paulo!!!! Nice one, pleased to meet you" He just smiled again and made a dash for the checkout!

Totally forgot, Brian Horton in a Chinese in Cheadle about four years ago, maybe a little more. I think he was manager at Macc at the time. He was with his wife and probably not too pleased about having a table of drunken louts next to him, but fair play to him he was chatty and smiling a lot. Still holds fond memories of the club I think.
He's ALWAYS going to City matches, he's practically a regular. Which is really good to see because he wasn't exactly one of our most glorious managers, but it's good when they come back.
Oh, just remembered one actually. I saw Paul Lake and his missus in B&Q Stockport about a year ago doing the usual umming, ahhing and bickering about what colour paint to get, looking confused and pensive staring at the colour charts and holding them back.
Hang on, I'm getting memories of a few more 'every day' meetings with City players (I have noticed previous posters are putting matchday ones, that's just cheating!)
Met Peter Barnes in Somerfield in Heaton Moor about 5 years back. We have met previously, so when I saw him he stopped and we exchanged pleasantries.
Gary Owen at Blackpool Plesure Beach. Again, we've met previously so we were just walking past each other, he said hello, I said hello back, we made a quick quip about something or other and carried on our way. My mate (red) took a few seconds to take it in and just went "....ha..haa...hang on, was that just Gary Owen?"
And Alex Williams filling up with petrol in Heaton Mersey. Andy Dibble in the sauna at David Lloyd in Cheadle.
