The new training complex.

We walk round 3 sides of the complex to and from the ground and noticed a strong tar like smell during our December matches.

My dad said it will be the contamination from the chemical works. When they built the last section of the M60 through Ashton, he said the earth was rotten with it from all the old factories and hat works.

It wasn't noticeable yesterday so maybe they have done the decontamination. Looks like their working every day of the week too so it won't be too long till it's up and running.

As someone said; a live feed 24/7 overlooking camera would be fantastic to have access to. Shouldn't be too much of a hassle nor cost a lot to set up.

Whats happening with the athletics ground?

Is that going back to just athletics?
Once every three years as well as school sports days around June/July every year? (basically a completely wasted stadium!)

Loads of activities and MCFC ladies play their home games there.

Anyone with contacts know if there is any truth that they had to have a WWII unexploded bomb dealt with a couple of weeks back ? Didn't see anything in the news or on here. Not an issue, just surprising that with everything that went on the bloody thing didn't go off.

Apparently it wasn't a bomb. It was a tiny piece of Mancini's temperament laying around.

Cracking thread and posts on the Aniline site: Manchester City FC Training Complex And Community Pitches, on SSC.

Some great aerial shots of how the area used to look many years ago.

Many thanks to Disco Steve and LongRipple.

Well worth a look and a moment of your time. Scroll down/up the page and page back for more photographs.
