The News of the World Tevez interview

Did Tevez have a translator with him, or was he asked questions by an Argentine reporter? Because I'd always thought he couldn't speak English.

Carlos can speak English, not the most fluent of people, but he can get by... he just isn't confident with it.

This doesn't sound good to me, why is Tevez talking to the NOTW and not the management team? I understand he is loyal to Citys' supporters, well why wouldn't he be, Citys' supporters have been brilliant with him, and let's face it, he has made one hell of a lot of money from us, I don't want to hear any more from him until he has decided what he is doing, and soon.

one of the best 10 in the world indeed..

Oops, I mean if you were to list the 10 best strikers in the world Tevez would definately be one of them. *swigs beer*.

Im going to bed.

course I knew what you meant, though I'd say top 3.. obv I agreed with your post!

He had another interview for some PlayFootball, he definitely doesn't like Manchester but I guess he'll stay according to this one:

Carlos Tevez has said he will not go back to Manchester even for a holiday when he leaves City at the end of his contract.

The 27-year-old has been linked with an exit from the Eastlands outfit with both Juventus and Inter seemingly interested in the Argentina international.

Tevez admits settling down in Manchester has been tough, while claiming he has reconciled his relationship with Albiceleste coach Sergio Batista after making the provisional Copa America squad.

"There is nothing to do in Manchester. I speak bad English still. When my contract ends in three years then I will not return to Manchester, not even for a holiday," he told Playfutbol.

On his return to the national team, after being dropped in the past for previous misdemeanors, he added: "We spoke about certain things and I told him [Batista] how I felt. He thought something of me, but I said it was not like that. In anycase, everything is clear now."

The Manchester City striker had previously thought about hanging up his boots next year, but that appears unlikely.

"I have always said I would retire when I was 28, but I think I will continue a bit more," he concluded.

The MEN manage to turn the interview into a 'Tevez hates everyone at City' article. I'm not posting the link - I don't want to give the MEN any more clicks.

They leave out that Tevez said he could "stay until he was 31", that the arguments between he and Mancini were just spats that everyone has in the work place, and that he just misses his kids.

Carlos Tevez has cast fresh doubts over his Manchester City future, revealing that club owner, Sheikh Mansour, has told him he is free to leave Eastlands.

And in a separate interview with an Argentinean talk show, he reportedly launched a stinging attack on Manchester – insisting he will never return to the city when his playing career is through.

Tevez is keeping City guessing about his future plans, with Real Madrid and Inter Milan both ready to swoop for the 27-year-old this summer.

And after handing in a transfer request in December, he says Mansour has left the decision in his hands as to whether or not he stays at the club he led to FA Cup victory and third place in the Premier League last season.

"Sheikh Mansour has made a lot of sacrifices to keep me and if I stay at City, it will be for him,” said Tevez. "He signed me, he wants to keep me but, at the same time, he has told me to do whatever I need to do to be happy.

"He has told me, 'If you want to leave, then you can go'. There is no deadline - it's down to me.

"They offered me a new contract in December but I didn't want to extend it.

"At the end of the season they offered me another new deal but at the moment I don't know whether I will accept it."

Tevez left West Ham for United in 2007, heading for City in a controversial move two years later.

But it appears he has no love for Manchester, reportedly telling Argentinean television channel Telefe: "There is nothing to do in Manchester. The problem is I'm still speaking very poor English.

"When I finish my contract I will not return to Manchester ever - not even on holiday."

As for his situation at City, he added: "I have no regrets whatsoever about my transfer request. It was a situation that some people on the board created. They promised something for six months and didn't deliver.

"So, after six months of promises, they don't do something - why should I believe them now? I don't.

"I will never speak to these people again. I still feel the same way.

"I deal direct with Sheikh Mansour - no-one else. It makes no difference to my future, as they don't mean anything to me."

Tevez’ family will play a big part in any decision about staying at Eastlands and he said: “No amount of money, no cars and the lifestyle can make up for the moment when I leave my two daughters at the airport.

"Do you think money solves everything? It solves nothing.

"People think I should be happy because I have everything but I can't buy time with my daughters and my family."

Tevez’ agent Kia Joorabchian added: "His family come first. He will be in Argentina. He will sit down and talk to his family.

"Until he resolves that issue he's not making a final determination on his future.

"What I can tell you is he is very happy at Manchester City. He has been happy at Manchester City. He's resolved his problems he had earlier in the year with certain members of the board. If he can resolve his family issues then why not (stay)?"

Have only scanned the last 20 odd pages, and have just read the interview, so will post as follows, apologies if it has been done earlier.

What concerns me is a player is over-riding the management structure for his own ends. That is a dangerous game to play.

Any system needs a management structure, and it needs to be firm. No player, including Tevez can be allowed to do whatever he wants, and only answer to the big cheese. Disharmony amongst the others, both players and management will follow absolutely.

If that management system is flawed, it will be found out quick enough and changed, if it is strong, it should be encouraged.

Imagine such a regime in your own office, where your equal work colleague ignores anything your management tells him to do, and this person only talking to the MD and doing his own thing. It would soon turn into bedlam.

And there is no way this would happen at Old Toilet, loathe him or hate him, Baconface IS top dog, and a painful end to anyone who thinks different. IMO that is correct.

if the article is true, then IMO its time for Tevez to go. The TEAM has to be bigger than any player.

Except it doesn't work like that. Rooney went public with his 'dissatisfaction' and it ended up with taggart crying on telly and manu bending over backwards to get shafted up the arse with a bumper new £200k plus deal and they then sent Rooney on a sabbatical to 'get his head straight' and not to worry about that 'playing football nonsense'

Terry & Lampard ruled the roost at Chelsea - hell it was Terry knifing Mourinho in the back that was the final straw for Jose

Liverpool bent over backwards to accommodate Torres and Gerrard and so on and so on

City bend over backwards for Tevez because they think he is a vital part of the equation and crucially it works. Even more crucially it doesn't inhibit the manager from managing which may be because as a player Mancini was indulged for exactly the same reasons so understands the mindset. Tevez and Mancini may not like each other but the have no problem working together even if it does involve shouting at each other on a regular basis.

Top clubs indulge top players. We are now a top club and Tevez is a top player. Get used to it.

We are a top club

He has undermined us (that includes You - if you go)

I have realised that I am a man of principal or a do gooder in a lot of peoples language

He is a great player and he was in my heart

Not anymore fuck off tevez get out of my club

Don't shit on your own door step

I agree with you in part!

He has undermined our owners trust!

For this he should be sold! Or was it his intension to speak out like this? To get a move?

All I know is if he stays while he is on the pitch I'll support him! He's gone down in my estimation after this piece in the NOTW!

If we ever want to be taken seriously as a big club we should not take this sort of disruptive behaviour.
Everyone employed by the club from Khaldoon to the tea lady should be singing from the same hymn sheet. If there are differences they should be kept in house and a united(poor choice of word) front shown to the outside world.

Carlos obviously thinks he's bigger than the club and the club are coming across as desperate in their attempts to placate him and hope he stays. No player is irreplaceable not even Tevez.

Everytime a player at utd acts up, bacon face fucks them off. Beckham, Ince and Stam where still in their prime when he called time on them. Why ? because the team and the club come first and if you start letting players have the upper hand then you lose all credibility. If one player takes the piss, then another one will see how far he can push it too.
Rooney was the exception because there was a good chance he was coming here and that would have been an absolute PR disaster, especially after the way we bent them over with the Welcome to Manchester poster.

If we want to be thought of as a big club then it's time to stop acting like we're so fucking grateful that a player as wonderful as Carlos graces Carrington and Coms with his presence.

Man up City.

Simples.

If he had actually bothered to turn up for his English lessons rather than just pay in advance for them then he might find things a lot easier!!
