The Nigel De Jong Appreciation thread

I'm really really sad that Nigel left City. He came from the Ajax youth academy and I would love to see him play against Ajax and this was the perfect opportunity.

Johnson and De Jong out, sinclair and Rodwell in?

To me that is not showing any signs of strengthening at all. All the big clubs strengthen when they win the title. We havent and I fear it will mean we will be less succesful this year and with our midfield and defence I cant see us doing any better in the CL.

Big mistake letting him go.

Nice touch by Mancini and the club to include him in the team photo today, despite knowing it was in the off.

He will no doubt be a welcome visitor in the long years to come and when my little lad asks me about him, I will say, De Jong, top player, and never gave an inch.

getting bit pissed off at the moment when you win the league they say capitalize and strengthen next season seems to me we are doing the opposite because the players who we have sold have not been replaced by better players they are worse imo and this could come back to haunt us
