He was outstanding in the season we finished 3rd and won the Cup. I will also remember him as an outstanding big game performer, particularly impressive against Chelsea on a couple of occassions and rose to the occassion in several derbies.
One of the unhappiest aspects of our club before that cup win was that so many decent players arrived at our club, impressed for a short while, then disappeared. To my mind Nigel, just like Vincent and Pablo, were the ones who reversed that trend. He simply never let his standards drop. And i liked his persona, the grin, a cheeky bastard if ever I saw one, I remember him "accidentally" driving straight through the middle of a photo op for a new signing (can't remember who).
So yeah I am sorry to see him go. Good luck.
