The Nigel De Jong Appreciation thread

Gutted is an understatement, always gave his best and his best is fucking good enough for this team, I blame Marwood probably forcing Mancini to sell before buying big. He should of been given a new contract, one which he deserved.
 
I love you Nige and i honestly mean that. Going to miss you for a very long time :(
 
Good luck to him, gave 100% when he played and the buzz when he scored his first goal for us was cracking!

I don't fucking get this deal, like the rest of us who have posted on this thread. I don't mind Johnson going but De Jong is a massive mistake.
 
Thanks for everything Nige. Began this amazing journey with us from the very start of the blue revolution over four years ago. An amazing player and truly an amazing character. Will be solely missed and forever will be remembered fondly here for the grit and determination he showed every minute he played in a sky blue shirt.
 
Not sure I understand this one at all. He is extremely good at what he does in breaking up play, protecting the back four and regaining possession. He will be missed unless we have a plan B for tomorrow.

Gutted he's going. Good luck Nigel. Great player for us IMO. I really hope we have someone lined up to replace him & that it's not just Rodwell.
 
This hurts so much to lose one of my all time favourite players.
However at the end of the day this was all down to business and not a footballing problem.
If this fee of £3.5M is correct then sorry MCFC it represents a bit of bad business.
Don`t ever stop thinking about us Nige and sincere wishes for the future.
 
Devastated. And even more so if we do not have an exciting replacement lined up for CM in the next 24 hours. Yaya is good (the best in the country) but he needs another top CM to partner him. Barry is not getting any younger, Jimmy is not quite good enough to a sure start and Rodwell isn't ready to step up yet. Not happy at the moment.

Will take a monumental signing tomorrow to cheer me up.
 
Rodwell's expectations for the season just went through the roof with de jong leaving, tough act to follow. good luck to nige, milan have weakened at cb and attack but at 3.5m this is one of the signings of the summer
