The Nigel De Jong Appreciation thread

Shit business by the club this. Does anybody get the feeling we are taking 2 steps back? The signings we have made have been shit lets be honest, every player we wanted has gone elsewhere or stayed at their club, every one of our rivals has strengthened...im not usually a glass half empty kind of guy but im really worried about this season. Slate me if you like but im predicting 3rd place in the league & no trophys.

This transfer window was supposed to push us onto even greater things but Nigel going has really summed up our efforts in this transfer window.

Sounds like Garcia and Maicon coming in.

If we dont get Garcia then we are incredibly light in midfield especially when yaya goes to ACON. I reckon its shit or bust for Milner this season now.

Respect to De Jong-Warrior, Surprised Hughes didnt go for him

I'm gutted. This is not a good move for the team and a terrible bit of business for the club.

I thought our squad was too small as it was last season and we only just managed to win the league with the last kick of the season.
We won the league last season because we were the best team in the country by a mile and thoroughly deserved to be in the position to score the title-winning goal. You don't win a Premier League title through "only just managing it", you win it because you are the best.

We wouldn't let him go without having a quality CM lined up, surely?
Well there's 25 hours and 23 minutes to get that done and there's not a sniff of anything in the air whatsoever.

This can't be right we are selling some one who has helped us so much in the past, plus the way he is in the dressing room is going to make a big void with him and aj gone.

If it is and dejong wanted out then all i can say is this guy is a pro.

You will be missed by me any way Nigel

Exactly. I assumed that after winning the prem we would have at least one amazing signing, a show of intent. Oh yeah, and 3-5-2 doesnt work

It's absolutely criminal that Mancini wasn't sacked after his tactics last year, but someone really needs to take hold of the clueless prick and drag him away from the club before he does anymore damage.

Good to have you back, nashark.

There's really no-one to fight class war with when you're not around, apart from Rascal and I think he quite fancies me rather than anything else tbh.

Big thanks go to Nigel for his service, excellent his first couple of years here, he wasn't on top form this past year, but that's down to not being first choice and the formation/style of play mostly not suiting his abilities.

He was part of the move that won us the league, well, was the final goal for the league, forever indebted to him for that, but I think we'll have a midfielder lined up if we're sorting this out IMO.

You never know though do you. Hopefully they've got something under wraps but if not, this could be a huge mistake.

We've just lost 24 minutes since someone else just posted something similar. 23 hours and 57 minutes to go to get it sorted.

Wtf... I trust mancini and back him after the last two years but im scratching my head at this.
