The none miserable bastards thread

Why can’t people let people openly discuss things that are reasonable talking points that aren’t quite skipping through the tulips, holding hands and throwing flower petals in the air while singing ‘ladidadida’ on a forum without being branded ‘miserable bastards’?
That's fair enough as we do have issues that can be discussed.
Somebody on the match thread yesterday said we were crap and not going to win anything when we conceded yesterday!!!
Think that's what the OP is on about.

100% im not trying to make the forum like rawk where any level of negativity is immediately struck down, im just saying lets counterbalance negativity with some of the things that are going well to come to a middle ground.

I’m slap bang in the middle.

People have every right to criticise the club they support but I see your points too.

My biggest criticism of city is that we’ve persistently failed to improve the midfield since we signed Rodri. Now we have zero physicality and our midfield is old, small and can’t cover ground. The club have completely fumbled the midfield situation and I think that is a valid criticism. You can’t plan for an ACL injury but I can’t believe we were prepared to go into the season without signing another midfielder. The Gundo situation fell into our laps.

BUT

We are still there fighting. Still in a great sport after some difficult games. We can build up some momentum after the break

In 2023/24 we won 18 and drew 3 of our final 21 games, taking 57 points from a possible 63.

In 2018/19 we won 18 of our final 19 games, taking 54 points from a possible 57.

When we need to, under Pep, we always win out.
That’s not what you said, you said we don’t find our groove until late December when we found our groove immediately in:
2016-17
2017-18
2018-19
2021-22
2022-23
2023-24

It was only as we got into the season after a few months in all of them that we dipped a bit (apart from 2017-18 where our worst run wasn’t until April).

We’ve almost always started like a house on fire under Pep. There have been a few seasons where we’ve played well all season.

There was only 2019-20 where we started poorly and never caught up and 2020-21 where we started terribly and then did find our groove in December that we haven’t started in a good groove.

Rodri’s injury has caused some serious issues for people’s hopes as well the team’s performances since the arsenal game. Each to their own init. No one at city (including señor rodri) is better at their own job than pep is so i’m leaning towards the gaffer finding a solution over a complete collapse.
Come on city!!

In a similar vein; People really need to get the sand out of their vaginas, some people are capable about openly discussing things that might just be a bit negative without panicking like Pep’s going to read Bluemoon and resign tomorrow.
The problem is it’s NOT just a bit negative. In most posts - we’re all doomed
