The Official Ashes 09 Thread

Broad's carear test averages are almost identical to Flintoff's now with bat and ball, shame his fielding isn't.

1-1

absolute obliteration in that test. England ya havin a laugh!!!
cant wait to see a few of the following getting called up for the 5th test: Mark Ramprakash, Robert Key, Andy Caddick, Robin Martin-Jenkins, Mark Butcher.

Bring on the OVAL!

that is the shittest batting line up i have EVER seen at the international level. once we get one wicket the tail starts.

caddick was dealt harshly with. leading wicket taker for 2 years in the county scene, his last test in 03 he got a 10fa including 7 in the 2nd innings, against the aussies. its a travesty he didnt get more cricket. and mark butcher would offer some nice stability and experience in the middle order, hed come out of retirement to represent you lot, still young aswell at 36.

AND WHATS WRONG WITH RAMPRAKASH!? yeah he might be shit, really shit, but he is better than bopara and bell (not that its a big achievement) and he can bowl some handy off spinners. Speaking of off spinners, Swann is a disgrace averaging over 60 for his wickets this series, hows Richard Dawson doing these days? hope hes ready to put the blue cap on!

He has had over 100 first class average for the season twice in 2 years as an old man, how is that shit. Compare his recent form to Langers for instance. Ramps scored in the 270s last week ad he knows the oval.

The best opener we have is Trescothick (who won't play, scored 2 x 100 in a 2.5 day match this week), he would open with Strauss and Ramps at 3.

I agree that Bopara should bat at 4 or even 5 as he is a special player, just lacking form, he should be given a bowl too. He will replace Collingwood long term. Trott, Flintoff, Broad, Swann, Sidebottom, Onions.

Burnley express needs a rest, looks injured or just lost form, Sidey still being rested so is likley to feature with Harmy missing out.
