Saurez, Rekik, Razak and Roman should all get games in the europa league.

Maybe a chance on the bench but,Razak apart, they are not really ready yet. There are plenty of good teams in the competition and whilst we won't be fielding our strongest 11, we should still be fielding a good competitive 11 which wouldnt include going into the under 18's.

I expect the teams we will put out will be similar to those we put out in the Carling Cup with Suarez, Rekik and Razak all getting involved from the bench.

Manchester City kids learn to do it the Barca way

City have introduced an innovative new training scheme which they believe will close the gap on world leaders Barcelona, writes Stuart Brennan.

The Blues have signed an educational partnership with St Bede’s College in Alexandra Park which sees their under-14 players receive afternoon coaching five days a week – a big increase on the old system, when boys would train one day a week with additional evening sessions.

The Blues feel the new set-up will give the boys more quality coaching time and help to begin the long haul of catching up to Barcelona’s brilliant youth system.

There are already 18 boys in the programme and academy head Mark Allen said: “It’s a three-year bespoke programme for our under-14s, 15s and 16s.

“Coupled with that is the chance for us to get access to the boys every day for what I consider a full-time football programme. In its crudest sense, it’s education in the morning, football in the afternoon, and a game on a Sunday.”

Agreement

But Allen refutes any suggestion the scheme will damage the boys’ education, saying: “We would not be allowed, and we wouldn’t enter into, an agreement that broke any rules in terms of the amount of education. If you look at the school reports, all of our boys are doing above average.”

Surveys have shown that England lags well behind Spain, Holland and other European countries in terms of the amount of coaching time young players receive. But the Premier League’s controversial new elite player performance plan is aimed at bringing our players up to scratch.

And Allen feels this scheme will take City close to the admired Barcelona model.

“We previously had two days with the boys, so we have gained another three days, which is at least six hours’ coaching,” he said.

“Clubs like Barcelona tend to have a very similar programme where they are educating the boys and combining that with football.

“It also means we get quality time with the boys, as opposed to having them at night-time when they might be getting tired.”

Jordi Hiwula bagged a hat-trick as City moved smoothly into the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup with a 4-1 win over Corby Town at Ewen Fields.

The visitors took a shock early lead through James Harrison but the young Blues hit back through former Stretford High School boy Hiwula’s treble and Adam Drury’s tap-in.

Bristol City want to sign Ryan McGivern permanently from us. Can see this happening as at 21 he has little choice of making it for us, especially with the depth we have at left-back. He's impressed their manager (Mark Robins) a lot and we should get a decent fee for him.

that's good news as he hasn't looked good enough for us at reserve level imo.

Not seen this picked up here although i may have missed it:

Marcos Paulo MesquitaLopes, known in the soccer world by Ron, was recently confirmed at Manchester City

Date of Birth: 28th December 1995

This is a player we have known about for some time, he even appeared for City in a tournament in the Ukraine, but we have not mentioned anything until it came to the general publics attention

Hyped as the next big thing to come out in Portuguese Football, Man City snapped up Marcos Lopes, most known as Ronny, a Portuguese 15 year old, left footed, attacking midfielder of Benfica's youth team.

As he wasn't 16 (the legal age to sign contracts) Man City stole him and only had to pay the formation rights -> around 1M and his family also got a house as exchange for moving to Manchester

Also, on our reserves wiki page we have a young goalie by the name of Yossi Ginzburg, not sure if he is on trial or signed but there isnt much about him on the net...apart from being a 20 year old from Israel.

Some info on Ronny here:

The goalkeeper one is new though, he is listed on the Europa League site as a Tel-Aviv player and I can't see anything on Google about him moving here.

Reece Wabara has said on Twitter that he's in the provisional Team GB squad for next summer's Olympics. Would be an amazing experience for him.

He only has one game left on loan at Ipswich which we should be glad of as they aren't giving him much of a chance and he's usually sat on the bench.

I hope the club can start sorting out better loan moves for some of our kids where more are guaranteed first team football. Weiss suffered in the past from the Bolton loan move, now Nimely and Wabara have been largely bench warmers on loan. McGivern, Cunningham, Mee, and Trippier start regularly in the Championship though.

The fallout of Eyre leaving Rochdale... Harry Bunn recalled and sent to Preston on loan for 6 months. Preston play Rochdale on Monday too.

Kieran Trippiers tweet yesterday

I'm going for 1-0 sunderland. What do you reckon .??

I reckon that you shouldn't be predicting a loss for your employers in the public eye Kieran.

In between the stick he was getting from the City fans there was a lot of Burnley fans hoping a rumour going round that he had signed permanently for between 900k and £1.3m. All goes to the FFP.

That's disappointing (his comment), footballers really are a thick bunch with some exceptions (like our very own captain whose Twitter comments are uber professional and well written). I reckon Trippier has a good future ahead, he is really impressing and wouldn't rule out international cap in future, but he may as well move on permanently for the good of his career (we need to add a sell-on clause though). Rumour was we nearly sold Nimely for a similar fee to that in summer but wanted to test him on loan... where he's done nothing but warm the Boro bench and get injured again. Between Nimely, Trippier, McGivern, and Cunningham we should pocket around £4m if we sell them all.

Hopefully Harry Bunn can bang some in for Preston and get his transfer fee rising.

Looks like the rumour was true. Seems a fair price too.

They love him in Israel, he's on trial and we say no to many trialists (we had two Argentines pre-season and both were said to look good - one even scored against Liverpool I think it was - but neither was kept) so good luck to him.

And good luck to Chris Chantler too, a lifelong blue who has joined Carlisle. Probably not the last to go as we're doing a serious cull of players it looks like.

Just put SS1 on and noticed Marcello Trotta is on playing for Wycombe (on loan from fulham) commentator says he has ben getting rave reviews. Scored 6 in 6 so far.

Rhodes has got two already he looks like he could be a player.

Edit make that 5.

Rhodes is a real goalscorer isnt it, it might be league 1 but some of the goals he has put away this season the best goalies wouldnt be able to keep out.

Didnt we pay over a million euros for Trotta? then he moved on after 6 months!
