Evans only just turned 17 (a couple of weeks younger than Rekik) so must be hugely impressing in the table-topping U18 side to be promoted to the EDS/reserve side too. Rare for an English lad to get promoted so young from the U18s.

Clearly he has taken over the role Paul Clowes had sitting in the midfield.(Paul just having been let go) He is tall and I reckon has grown quite a lot recently. Looks like he has a tackle in him and the determination not to let anyone get past him (i.e fouls if he has to)but when I have seen him his passing has been very sloppy.

Paul Clowes had on many occasions captained the under 18's and through his development played over age on many an occasion. He last captained the side at Liverpool away not long ago even though he didnt know he was playing till 90 minutes before the game.He also played in the EDS team a year ago against Liverpool at Hyde where we won 1 nil and he effectively marked Paul Ince's son.

Good luck to Evans but I think he has a lot to do to make it at City.

James Poole did a lot more in that central role at the end of last season and really impressed me, if he got moved on then it's only a matter of time before the likes of Evans are shipped out.

But Poole was 20/21, Evans is barely 17 and unlike Poole is being regularly capped by England youth and was part of the U17 World Cup team. Let's judge Evans in 2-3 years time, he is still in a major developmental phase and seems to be progressing well (in the eyes of the coaches who promoted him anyway).

Absolutely right. He has started to shine and the next year or so will be massive for him.If he keeps growing and getting better we have PV mark 2 :)

Shame about Tse & Benali. Both local lads who a few years ago were shining lights in the youth set up. Tse had a nasty injury that set him back, and I think Benali picked one up last year when he was impressing, he then failed to impress on loan at Rochdale this year.

Its amazing what an injury, or how a bit of growing up affects a players development. Reece Wabara seems to have been another that has regressed. They can bounce back though. I always remember really rating Curtis Obeng, and was shocked that he only went to Wrexham in the Conference when released by City, but at 23 he has worked his way back up to the Premier League with Swansea.

Paul Marshall was another of that team that was highly rated, and had several England honours at U-20 like Obeng. He has just signed a short term deal with Port Vale, after failing to impress at Rochdale, and Walsall after being released by City.

My Translation:

How's life going in Manchester?
So far pretty good, I have taken a little time and I'm slowly adapting to the times and meals. It's all very different but I have my family and they help me a lot.

In no time you did the preseason with the first team and have debuted in a competitive match, you can't complain about everything that's happening to you so far ...
The truth is I'm very happy, I'm training in the squads for the league and although I have not yet taken the step of debuting in the Premiership, at least I am being called-up for the squad, which is important.

Does Mancini pay attention to the those in the youth?
He usually comes to see all the reserve games and we often train with them. There are two boys and I who work a lot with the first team.

How is it to training with the likes of Aguero, Silva and Yaya Toure?
Imagine, going from training with the Celtic B to working with the first team of Manchester City. It is a brutal change.

Which player has surprised you most?
Silva is the best. He also helps me a lot day to day.

And Balotelli? Is he such a character as he seems?

He is a very nice guy. He's a special but nice guy. Everyone teases him a lot and he is the center of the jokes of the team.

How was the preseason with the first team in America?
I traveled to the United States and the first two games I could not play because I had no transfer but in the third, I was able to play. In addition, there were penalties and I even grabbed one. After we returned we went to Dublin and we had the opportunity to play against Inter Milan and also against a selection of Ireland who were picked for the tournament.

¿Does Silva have you under his wing?
Yes, he is very often with me. And now is the best and no one can match him. Before the fans' idol was Tevez, but as of now it's Silva. They love him.

You've had a chance to play a competitive match with Manchester City, how was the debut in the Carling Cup?
I had been called-up in previous match squads and I was finally able to make my debut in a competitive match. I think I played pretty well, so everything went perfectly.

Would you like to make a career in England or do you think about returning to Spain to succeed?
For now I just want to be here for many years, to reach the first team and win things. Then we'll see.

Is English football very different to Spanish football?
Now it is changing a lot. The football from people like me or Silva is doing well but what happens is that there is not so much pauses. One has to always play quickly. But these are things that when you get to the national team helps you more.

What is Manchester City like from within?
Much has changed in recent years. According to what they say, everything is very different, for example, they have gone from buying a house or two to capturing a whole estate. Anyway they have to go step by step, without rushing. They have already built the team and only have to sign more for the base(youth) and work up gradually.

Was it easy to settle in England?
I'm fine. It's cold but the weather is similar to Vigo and I'm used to it. In addition, I have English and speak it fairly well.

United's current crop of U18s are god awful, if there was relegation in these leagues they'd be heading down.

Both Razak and Assulin played last night for Brighton and, going off a fans forum, they were a class above and really impressed - keep it up fella's.....
