United's current crop of U18s are god awful, if there was relegation in these leagues they'd be heading down.

If that was close to Utd's best under 18's 11,they certainly were dreadful.

Rusnak seems to be finding it piss easy at under-18 level this season, tearing apart defences with perfectly timed passes and scoring a fair few. Will be interesting to see how far he goes after our Slovakian 3 Musketeers (Weiss, Mentel, Mak) failed to break through, although Weiss would have if not for the takeover.

From the Mirror:

MANCHESTER CITY are still chasing Crewe starlet Dan Smith - after almost a year.

The Blues are willing to pay £250,000 for the 16-year-old.

Alex boss Steve Davis said: “There’s always been interest from City, but how far forward that has got I don’t know.”

I have seen real improvement in Rusnak this year although he did have an anonymous game against Fulham when we got knocked out of the Youth Cup.High hopes.

Man City's chase for Crewe youngster Smith approaches a year
By Sportsmail Reporter

Manchester City will not relent in their efforts to sign Dan Smith from Crewe, despite their chase approaching a year.
The highly-rated 16-year-old midfielder is likely to cost them in the region of £250,000.
Crewe boss Steve Davis said: 'There's always been interest from City, but how far forward that has got I don't know.'

City scouts watched the youngster in an Under-18 2-2 draw between Crewe and Stoke in which he scored, on February 18.

The Premier League club attempted to procure the youngster back when Dario Gradi was in charge.
Gradi said the club's refusal to let Smith go was a possible barrier to Crewe picking up talent on loan from city.
'We'd have a complication looking at City now as a club we can get loan players off with them trying to sign one of our young players,' he said in August.
But City's interest stretches back as far as May, with a reported £500,000 bid coming to nothing
